Unwittingly, Joe's request for a bar or restaurant to join him in his smoking ban lawsuit has created other ramifications - will any local business owner publicly align themselves with a person that is widely thought to be a head case?
Joe asks for a partner today: " Wanted: Neighborhood Bar or Restaurant so I'll have standing"
This will tell the hole story; is he really a savior and protector of the people, or is he just a guy with a web site with a few rabid followers.
This will be great to follow. Let's see how many people will step up and put their names and reputations on anything related to Pilchesky.
My guess is few, if any, will join forces with him.
He played all of his cards on this one. If no one joins him he proves himself to be irrelevant. Like Joe always says, " I like to play people against themselves." That's exactly what he did here - he may wind up outing himself as meaningless.
2007 seems like it will be a make-or-break year for Joe Pilchesky, what the request for a bar-owner to join him and the Attorney Minora letter threatening sactions. What Pilchesky seems to be forgetting is that each time he ups his rhetoric, he increases his potential for loss. Simply dumbing a grand here or there as a personal ego boost via a silly-assed lawsuit filing maybe one thing, but forking over several grand in sactions OR in having to hiring actual lawyer to appeal a sanction decision is something else entirely.
I have the feeling that Pilchesky is opening doors to places where he may yet regret going. Note that he would never admit this...he has a flock of worshipers to consider (cult leaders have to keep up the air of infalibility to their followers you know)...so I'll assume that the good folks here at PD will be glad to point this out, time and time again.

Free Speech does't require a multi-paragrah disclaimer Mr. Pilchesky.
If he has to hire a lawyer to come in and try to save the day, whoever plays the old man in the movie won't get top billing. The David vs. Goliath angle would be blown to hell. No Rudy-like chants of "Joey, Joey, Joey!" to end the film.
All this nonsense is about Joe Pilchesky, not the people of the city. It was never about the people. Did you forget that?
I was thinking the exact same thing. He will claim there were oh-so-many bar owners that wanted to join in the alliance - too many, in fact for him to choose from. I have a feeling he expects the owner of Whistles to be one of the first to jump on his bandwagon. None will be named and they will all have contacted him via email or p.m.
I understand what you are trying to say ... we can all say that anyone has contacted us via e-mail or private messaging ... well hell didn't I tell you all ... Hillary Clinton contacted me via e-mail to work on her campaign ... I had to turn her down ... when I told her I was far toooooo busy taking care of the PD website .... she asked me if Joe Pilchesky was still up to his tricks ... I told her he was ... so she understood.
Anyway ... Joey P can claim to have 1000 bar owners offering him a piece of their business ... but just think about that one ... in order for him to have standing he would have to have ownership in the business ... now if you were a business owner ... would you give him a piece of your business just to fight the smoking ban? I know that I would not!
I told Hillary what a fine job you are all doing .... She was proud ... I would share that e-mail but it somehow got deleted. Sorry guys and gals!
Sorry! I'll be more careful next time!
