In the 'Cult of Pilchesky'...

...free speech is strongly encouraged, as long as cult-leader Joe approves of the speech
...you can call a politician you disagree with a 'whore', but don't ever suggest that the politician the cult leader loves ever does anything wrong, else your ass will be banned
...you can bring up personal tragedy (no matter how horrible), as long as it can be twisted into something to use against the Mayor
...you can talk about politicians using connections to get jobs for themselves and family members, as long as cult leader Joe doesn't like the politician in question; if it's a politician the cult leader likes, then this subject is off limits
...you can read that the wife of the cult leader forbids postings about the children of public servants, then simply turn a blind eye when followers actually mention them in postings
...you can hate the local newspaper (and even call for a boycott of it) but still mention it all the time in your postings
...you can write a barely intelligible posting that complains about the public speaking skills of council members (a sense of the ironic doesn't come easily to Pilchesky cult members)
...you can proclaim that people need to get their news from completley unbiased sources of information, such as the Union News
...you can complain about how the city spends money, just don't complain about all the money the city spends defending itself from silly-assed, meritless lawsuits filed by the cult leader
...you can claim to be an 'insider' with all this 'confidential' information...most of which is incorrect
...you can claim to have never lost a single lawsuit while at the same time you acknowledge that you have never actually won one either

Ag,I do not know how I missed this post ... You have really thought this out haven't you ... I am impressed ... I always said I felt that they were cultist over there at DD ... but you nailed it.Today I am spending time going through our old post to refresh my memory and let me tell you I do not even remember seeing this one ... Good Post way to sum up what they are truly about over there.LusNewVoice (the original)

Thanks Lus for the compliment.

On a somewhat related note, I've been listening to a lot of Squeeze lately (British pop band from the 70's-80's), and there is verse to one of their songs called 'Cool for Cats' that reminds me of Pilchesky...it must be so cool to be Joe...

You know Ag for the longest time I used to read at DD ... I would read and read ... I didn't post ... well I should say that the first name that I chose to post with was never accepted ... or I would have posted ... I was dumb enough to think that I would be accepted as a poster with the name Doherty Supporter ... that's right kids I was a Doherty Supporter ... and no I am not ashamed of that ... for the most part I am quite pleased with the direction in which our beautiful city is moving forward ... I heard about them over across the hall and was told of the vile and disgusting things they were saying ... so I tried to register ... did not work.

But when that McTiernan Thread began ... well I had to register ... so I picked a name that they would not find offensive ... and set out to post in defense of my someone who was my boss and is my friend ... and his family right to privacy in a time when privacy is very important ... they just jumped right into that ... dug deep ... wrote what ever they wanted ... true or not ... mostly not ... and helped to further destroy lives ... they pushed McTiernan and Miss Rose over the edge ... they said vile things about Mrs. McTiernan and well what the F**k did she do?  So I began posting ... well all of a sudden that thread began to "expose" anyone who ever even thought of having an affair ... they posted peoples divorce papers ... and how could someone sit back and just watch ... I had to speak out.

In Joey's little world ... when he traditionally banned someone ... the went away ... but I made a choice not to and he's not used to people who stand up to him ... Bully's never are ... He has accused me of  being Joe Brazil, school district IT tech ... then he accused me (and all of you) of being an IT tech for the city ... he once wrote that he knows where I live .... I told him stop by for coffee and we can chat .... he told me that he was going to sue me ... I'm still waiting to be served the papers ... I know how he likes make his people think he is the greatest ... well he's not ... he's all talk ... and he knows nothing ... because if he really wanted to find out who I am ... it wouldn't be that hard.  But his little sheep think he can and will do all of this to the enemy ... sorry to disappoint you all he is nothing like you think ... like most bullies when someone stands up to them they back right down ... so what you have is you typical little school yard bully as your leader.

They will one day open their eyes and see him for what he really is ... they will stop being blinded by his so called leadership skills ... he's no leader the only place he can lead them all is straight to hell.  He's a whole lot of crazy ... God bless him ... and them I feel sorry for them all.

But anyway after my ramble ... I thank you Ag ... again for getting exactly who he is ... and finding a song that fits his personality to a tee!

Thanks Lus....just doing my part for the cause.

As a side note Art, I got turned on to Squeeze rather late. Specifically, I had bought the DVD 'Concert for George' (George Harrison tribute concert from a few years back) last year, which by the way is nothing short of OUTSTANDING, and saw a guy named Jools Holland playing piano on a few songs. The guy had great stage presence and just played the hell out of the piano, so I had to find out more about him...some googling and UTube video time invested and I find out that he was in Squeeze. The ironic part is that the group was together back when I was in high school and college and at the time I knew nothing about them.
