Better than a fence around the balcony, maybe they could put up a chicken wire fence around the council dais, honkey-tonk bar style. If the gallery is going to continue to act like uneducated white trash, perhaps the chambers should reflect that. Maybe put in a jukebox. One that features both kinds of music. Country AND Western.

Even though it started out with a touch of humor, we could actually save money by asking a non-union bouncer or two to keep the peace [on a voluntary basis, of course]. It would save the taxpayers a.) the salary of varied union policemen, and b.) restore the peace of mind that no neighborhood is left unguarded by our boys in blue. However there may just be a tavern with a few extra brawls because we've snagged their muscle for one night a week.

AND what the hell - let's charge admission. Call it a 'cover charge' with a two drink minimum. Make the doomers pay double the cover charge to sit their hefty arses in the coveted balcony seats. After all - their favorite snipe is "pay to play" right? Marie Schumaker can dole out pieces of duct tape for four bits, as if they were 50-50 tickets. We'd be out of debt in NO time, because we all know these doomer losers can't pass up a cheap opportunity to win a buck or two. If the state would allow us toset up a lotto machine, we'd make up that deficit on Patilla and the rest of his missile-silo-guarding buddies alone.

On top of all the other duties, Kay can be in charge of the dice cup. What the hell, we have to sign in anyway - may as well make a buck there too. They can pretend they're signing in up the Taurus.

Let me answer some of your question Granma...

(1) Yes, give this 'site' a bad name. That's what happens when you claim that people are having affairs, abortions, children out of wedlock, etc. Honestly, people will use this site to tell a blatant lie simply for the shock value. Jerry Springer would be proud.
(2) How about 'lowlifes', 'douche-bags', 'thugs', 'idiots'? I could go on...
(3) We strongly suspect that you don't have so many new posters...in fact, most of your posters never post. Some that do, such as 'Pilchesky's Brain on Drugs' are really existing posters just using a different name.
(4) It's a big deal because it shows you for the ignorant, people that you are. An intelligent person uses logic and reasoning to make a point; Andy Sparaglia <sp?> is an example...he disagrees with the Mayor, but tries to use logic and common sense in his arguments. The vast majority of the DD/LoD crew is more interested in taking cheap shots than anything else. In essence, you just don't want to disagree with they Mayor and others...you want to HURT them...and you will rationalize that in any way possible (hence the comments about "...not half as bad as...").
(5) Yeah, that's right Granma, that's many of the posters at DD are city employees who post under assumed names. Real good reputation, huh?

It's to a point now that I think the old girl does stuff like this
on purpose. NO one can be that dense. After all, I've noticed
she's taken to blatantly emphasizing her 'opion'.

Note...my wife teaches third grade in the Scranton School District (and she managed to get a job without being a School Director no less), so I can assure you that some third graders are, in fact, better writers than Granma.

I think Granma should just sit back with her banjo and Minnie Pearl hat and keep her yap shut. I have been to see the treehouse. It's going to be beautiful. Those asswipes make it sound as though Chris is going to have the handicapped children base jumping (wheelchair and all) from one platform to another.

Until the old girl rips herself away from her Packard Bell 386 and the newspaper she boycotts, and makes the trip to Nay Aug to see for herself, she should just shut her pie hole.

I do not believe that Mark Sitezinger is looking to be a police officer ... he is doing as he was instructed by his "boss" that's right he has a boss ... to do ... enforce the smoking ban ... like it or now it is the law in Scranton ... you all make is seem as though he went out and just made an arbitrary decision to wite the citation against Chicks --- that is not at all what happened and you all know it!!!

Now if they had the Police Officers running around citing people for smoking ... well you all would be bitching about that because who the hell would be protecting the streets ... making them safe for all of you!

From the very beginning I think that Council made it quite clear that it would not be the police department that would be enforcing this particular law ... I do believe that in the very beginning they had indicated that it would be the health inspector and well since we only have one (how come yer not bitchin about the fact that we only have one health inspector) that other department heads and city officials would be responsible for enforcing this law. I clearly remember that because the Doomers were bitchin about the fact that the police are underpayed and overworked as it is ...

Obviously Granma does not feel this way .... ok I'm done with my rant.

I can read ... and I can spell and I can comprehend what I read ... and you know what ... I found that those posts about the old girl were my absolute all time favorite ...
