How about this ... the ACLU is having a meeting ... and Uncle Joey is going to attend ... and encourages all to attend ... now he accuses the city of denying the freedom of speech while he claims to give everyone the opportunity to have that same freedom ... how do we think The ACLU would feel about him personally if they knew that he is one of the biggest deniers of this particular freedom ... hmmmm I just wonder ... although I am not guaranteed that right ... because it is his site ... he does claim that he offers it to all ... I wonder what the ACLU would feel about him since he is a bigger denier of this freedom than the city of Scranton is.

I have just received information about the local chapter of the ACLU holding its meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 9th at 7PM. It is held at the IBEW building on Wyoming AVe. I also posted it on the calendar which can be found by clicking on the CALENDAR tab at the top of this message board.

BTW, check the calendar on a regular basis for information about upcoming meetings, and by clicking on the event, you'll see any details pertinent to it.

Please submit any event information to us for posting on the calendar by clicking on our email address

Thank you.

LOCAL ACLU MEETING : January 9, 2007

The local chapter of the ACLU is holding its meeting tonight at 7PM at the IBEW building. This is a great opportunity for those who want to ask questions regarding violations of civil liberties and free speech.

Is the public (well, on his message board, anyway.  We all know it's not exactly "public"...) solicitation of "any and all" information on councilpersons and their families be violations of their individual civil liberties?  Even if he himself didn't ask for the information, there are several threads of that style posted on his site.  And, after all, he is "the person directly responsible for everything" we read there.  By allowing those threads to remain open, active, and viewable, wouldn't he then be advocating the potential violation of someone's civil liberties.

The irony, how it burns...

This is priceless. The pinheads are going to go to the ACLU meeting to complain about time limits at council meetings.  Check out the conditions of the ACLU meeting to be able to speak.  Priceless!!   Na-na-na-na

Here's the most up to date information I have on the local chapter of the ACLU, which is referred to as the NEPA chapter.

They meet every third Tuesday of each month at 7 PM , so next Tuesday January 16th they will have their meeting at the IBEW building at 421 Wyoming Ave. There is a local number that you can call if you are looking for information about the law regarding civil liberties, or to file a complaint about violations of civil liberties. The number will connect you to the Phila office where you can get some assistance. 570-941-2258.

You should know that the local meetings are convened for chapter business, although they allow a 5 minute time period for public individuals to speak. However, unless you become a member of the ACLU, this opportunity to speak does not extend continuously to week after week, but members of the ACLU are given the right to speak at every meeting. They cannot offer legal advice at these meetings, but I have been advised that they would like to hear about any complaints or concerns.

One can join the ACLU by doing it online, or you can pick up membership papers at the meeting. It is suggested that you do it online for faster registration.
PA ACLU Website

I'll put this information up on the CALENDAR link every month, and clicking on the event will give further details (just in case the place of the meeting is changed, etc.)

Also, the permanent link to the ACLU website is always found under the LINKS tab.

The ACLU is a boil on the hindquarters of society, in my opinion.  They have defended the scum of the earth in many cases.  In the past, ACLU has defended NAMBLA, a pedophile group.

No surprise that Mr. Clean has had his lips puckered on the arses of the ACLU.

I beat you last thread, you beat me this thread.

Sounds an awful lot like a City Council meeting, huh, with the time limits and the condition that the speaker adheres to chapter business?

When will the old man post his suit against the ACLU for violating his First Amendment rights?

This is priceless.  Check out the website, which oddly enough was accessed courtesy of Edith Bunker's link.  See where they post that the meetings are held?

The Northeast PA Chapter meets every third Tuesday of the month  at the Zandarski room of the Estate Building, University of Scranton(emphasis mine)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!  Curious where they got the IBEW location from, or if it's temporary based on a scheduling conflict.  I hope the old man is forced to have to go to the U of S to bitch about the U of S.  Maybe his head will explode from the irony.

I tell you what, though.  If I were the ACLU, I'd take their membership money just to hear them froth off at the mouth one time.  (Hell, we're doing it for free over here, why not make a buck or two for it?  Capitalism really is the way to go...)  Membership is between $20 and $100, depending on what level you want.  I'm willing to bet that the DD zealots all go for the $100 memberships.  What organization wouldn't be happy to put up with 15 minutes of pointless ranting for the $300 in membership fees?

Joe, you should save your money and take care of things closer to home, know what I'm sayin'?
