Eating: Delusions about teeth and ability to eat?

Hello,

In October he fell on the sidewalk and knocked out his front teeth. He has a flipper that looks and functions very well. However, he has become obsessed with all the things that prevent him from eating anything but cupcakes, candy, cookies, ice cream and pudding. He insists that his teeth are coated with food, his teeth will get cavities, his teeth cannot chew or bite .... on and on every day now for weeks. I, our daughter and his daughter-in-law (a psych NP) have each sat with him but it makes no difference.Has anyone else gone through anything like this? what did you do?i am trying to get him in to see a different neurologist as his has been less than useful. Owen is on Nemenda, Exelon, Lexapro (20) and no more than 3 Xanax (5) a day. Besides eating, he also screams at me about weather every day (what do we do when we have snow, etc.).I have to say that this is the worst possible disease. And I am so tired of people with think all dementia patients are sweet, quiet people who like music but forget names. This is like living with a mentalpatient.

Please help

I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
