Went out on the usual Sunday morning ride today with some friends. Things went as they should, got to the meeting point, fueled up, then set off.
About 5 minutes into the journey, we reached our first national speed limit zone so we took it up a notch and was doing an average 70 (ish ), then as we came off a roundabout, there was three pheasants attempting to cross the road. We had already reached the speed limit by this point so there was no way the rider I was following, was going to swerve or brake in time for them to get clear.
The obvious happened and there was a cloud of feathers I rode through as I saw this dead bird roll along the road.
My friend had signaled to stop so we pulled over. He showed us the damage... the bird had completely snapped his clutch lever off. There was no sign of it anywhere other than what remained which was a little stump. He somehow got it home and thankfully we wasn't too far away. please help! thank you!
