Shocker of all shockers. Gary DiBileo announces he is running for controller but declines to go after his opponent. Thus, instead of an honest discussion about (a) where two million dollars disappeared and why nobody seems to have an adequate explanation and (b) the current controller's ten-hour work week, the taxpayers will be subjected to phrases like "watchdog for the people" and "going to do a good job".
Way to master details there, mayor. The newspaper was more pointed, and they actually like Kenny more than you.
This does beg an interesting question: if Gary DiBileo loses to Ken McDowell, then just who is Gary capable of defeating? I mean if I dug up a dead cat and ran it against Gary would he still lose?
Ken McDowell is, at best, incompetent. At worst? Well I don't know I'm imaginative enough to describe that end of the spectrum. Gary should be able to defeat this guy, because I genuinely believe that a replacement is needed.

I don't know, I picture Gary DiBilio as a Fred Flintstone kinda guy. He's a hard-workin shlub who goes to move rocks at the quarry every day. He's got the loving wife and the kids, and brings home the bronto-burgers to feed the family. He goes to his Lodge meetings with his best friend. Good Ol' Fred (oops, I mean Gary) tries to do the right thing; but he'll look a bad opportunity square in the face and wind up flat on his arse.
Every time they show him on television, I hear the sound of Fred's feet on the ground as he pedals his car.
Maybe the issue is that Gary just doesn't have the stomach for politics. That's not a criticism by the way; having a conscience...not wanting to go for someone's jugular vein...those aren't necessarily bad things.

I don't have the stomach for really speedy rollercoasters that plunge forty stories in two seconds. Ergo, I tend not to go on them. If Mr. DiBileo does not have the stomach for political play, he should stop running.
There's a wide line between going for someone's jugular and pointing out reasons why they should not be reelected or how they are failing to adequately perform the duties of their job. Mr. McDowell's record needs to be highlighted and then judged by the voters, especially how it may or may not contrast to Mr. DiBileo's vision or lack thereof.
He tries too hard to please everybody and comes off looking like a wimp. When you do that, people don't take you seriously. Especially when you've run for numerous offices and couldn't even see the finish line in any of them.
Sell your insurance and go take Dino for a walk, bub.
