I have been reading with a bit of interest a thread at DD ....
You want dirty politics, here's a beauty that happened at tonight's SSD meeting...
What really boggles my mind about this thread are two things really.  In this thread they claim that Melissa Rose got a promotion ... how do they figure that.

Administrative: Joseph Hanni, assistant principal of West Scranton High; Kevin Rogan, acting principal of Lincoln-Jackson; Melissa Rose, assistant principal of South Scranton Intermediate; Bridget Frounfelker, assistant principal of Northeast Intermediate; Ann McDonough, principal of Whittier Elementary

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is that not Bob McTiernan's babe, as in the one he got caught having an affair with that caused him to resign from city council and principal of Scranton School?  I've heard they're still an item, maybe even living together.  If that's the case, he's making 90K and she's somewhere at 70K.

Not bad, not bad at all.

Melissa Rose is not getting a raise in her salary ... she has not been promoted since this whole thing began ... she was moved from Scranton High as an assistant principal and given the position of Assistant Principal at Northeast Intermediate ... and now no promotion ... she is being moved from Northeast Intermediate and being given the position of Assistant Principal at South Intermediate ... she is not making more money than she did before ... so what is the big deal.  I would think that it makes life a bit more difficult for her as she was given less than a week's notice that she was being moved ... but what the hell do I know!

The other thing that bothers me is the Judy Gatelli thing where the kids across the hall are saying that she as a nurse should have known about a rehab program for employees ... well I am sitting here to tell you that this program is something that all employees should be made aware of and after almost 30 years in this district ... I never heard of it ... Oh I know that on occassion people have been sent to anger management ... and if you are feeling depressed they will send you to Scranton Counseling Center ... but other than that ... I have not heard of a drug and alcohol program ... So you can all get off Judy's back on this one ... and as far as getting the names of the people she is referring or the positions they hold ... well that would not be very professional of her to give names and positions ... also I do believe that is something that would be covered under the sunshine act ... matters of personnel are not to be discussed with the public ... so really kids that is none of your business.  Or is Joe looking to branch out with lawsuits against the school district for giving out information that is covered by the sunshine act ... Get over you hatred of Judy as it will eat you up inside ...

Judy Gatelli, as the school nurse, should have known about the program.  More importantly, if she had been aware of people reporting for work under the influence of alcohol, it was her duty to report said individuals to the administration.

Did you ever consider the possibility that there is no program? Did you ever stop and think that perhaps Judy did tell someone in Administration of these problems with faculty and staff? Did you ever stop to think that it is quite possible that the Administration made a choice to ignore when people repoted such things? Maybe that's why Judy went to a PUBLIC meeting and brought it up in front of the School Board ... Or are we just going to say Judy never mentioned this ever ... and assume that nobody ever made anyone aware of this? It's easy to assume that ... but is your assumption the truth Glenn.

Mrs. Gatelli e-mailed (Facebooked) me yesterday and explained the situation.  I suggested that she discuss the matter with Chris Phillips, who in turn was only too happy to offer his assistance in formulating and implementing a policy that improves the matter.  Their collaboration should prove to be fruitful.

That would be too people (Phillips & Gatelli) who regularly and routinely get irrationally blasted on your friend Joe's message board.  Oh, and Pilchesky himself has participated in some of the most vile bashing directed at Judy...stuff that, had it been your wife, mother, sister or daughter...I dare say you probably would have slugged the guy by now.

I am glad you communicated directly with them....That may have been a better way to handle this, than what the loons across the hall regularly do...shoot first ....then oh wait then nothing...if you give this information across the hall they will simply accuse you of going "soft" on "them"
