Chris Phillips is a good man because he confronts issues like PNC? Whoaaaa Nelli, where was Mr. wonderful for all the years PNC came in front of this board for a contract? He was right there as quiet as a mouse not saying a single word. Now why would that be? Perhaps because of the dynamics of this board. He wanted to go along with his THEN buddies on the board. Phillips is now with Sheridan, Lesh McGuigan and Pat O'Malley However, nothing surprises me any longer, and Chris Phillips has been in politics for Chris Phillips only. He could have been his own man from the beginning, but he sold out to Gilbride, Jeffers, and company years ago and thoroughly enjoyed doing so. The power shot right to his head, and now he jumps ship. Neither side should trust him if they are wise. As I stated yesterday many do not even know there are nine directors on this board. Thus, it's all too easy for Chris Phillips to shift his loyalty and positions to suit himself. For whatever reason, the public remains focused on city council which is not the only area of focus impacting their lives. The school district budget is far larger, and the school board raises taxes far more frequently than council and the Mayor. I have to give Ozzie Quinn and Marie Shumaker credit for attending these meetings and keeping them on their toes. Perhaps they can ask Mr. Phillips why he never spoke up on PNC previously. He may stutter and try to find an excuse., but his reply would be most interesting. Would his reply be truthful? Is Africa in America? Bottom line, he can not be trusted.

Did you read the entire thread that this post came from? It is a thread that is what seems to me to be talking about the filing of yet another frivilous lawsuit which this time will be against the Medical College and the SSD. It will be filed because the School District sold off some property which included the Industrial Arts Building, the Baseball Field and the Tennis Court Areas. Pilchesky is claiming that they sold off public parks ... not true .... the tennis court area and the baseball field were not a public park ... it was school district property which the district allowed the public to access when not in use by the school.
And this thead also claims that the District sold the old Technical High School ... and that they did it without informing the public. Again this is false ... they did not sell the entire building they sold the Industrial Arts Building ... which from what I understand housed the Shop Classes and the Art Classes .... at least that is what is was used for when I attended Technical High School. Since it became the new home for East Scranton Intermediae School ... I do not believe that this building was utilized.
What is the harm that this has caused to Mr. Pilchesky and Mrs Schumacker ... and it was heavily advertised to the public by way of the Scranton Times ... now these people boycott the Scranton Times (or so they say they do ... but I don't believe it) so how is that the fault of the SSD and Chris Phillips in particular if they did not know that it was going to be sold ... it's not ... and the District does have the right to sell off properties. This was School District property not a public park as the SS Complex was, it was designated for use by the student's of the Scranton School District, it is my understanding that Northeast Intermediate was not utilizing the ball field, tennis courts, or the Industrial Arts building.
The kids across the hall once worshiped Mr. Phillips and now because he made a decision that he felt was the right one for the taxpayers and the students, and not the popular one with them ... well now he is dirt. He will never be able to do anything right in their eyes now ... I have to say this I am not someone who voted for Mr. Phillips but I do have to say that he is keeping the public as informed about things as he can via his facebook page he has made himself more accessible than any other school director has ever been and he answers questions in a timely fashion .... I know this because I have asked 2 questions of him and he answered them promptly and politely ... I gained a lot of respect for this man that I once did not have.

My next question can only be this, how loyal is Chris Phillips? Has he even offered to help Joe out financially? Well? If not, WHY NOT? Anyone know?
Faye .... does loyalty equal a monatary contribution to the cause of Joe and Joanne Pilchesky? How much have you yourself contributed to the cause and the rest of the DD toadies how much have they contrubuted ... they made it easy for you to contribute to the cause with the donation button located on the Scranton Political Times main page ... so just how much money did Joe get frome all of the donations? And did he pay taxes on it ... can DD be considered a business? It is his main job ... so is he paying Mercantile taxes on what he makes via the DD website? I think he should be ...
Anyway I would lose all respect for Mr. Phillips if he were a contributor to the "cause" .... and many other feel the same way I do ... go waste your time and waste your money on your lawsuits .... just how many have been won by Joe?

Judy Gatelli is the nurse who brought this up about teachers being intoxicated. Need I say more? Why did she of all people stay silent when she came across this herself?
Yes, Fay, you need say more. Like your point. Tell us what your point is.
She brought it up, so therefore did NOT stay silent. Do you even read what you ramble on about? I think YOU are the one who's intoxicated.
Me too Paul....I think a good drunk and a maybe a little hanky panky to go along with it would do her a world of good.... trouble is...alcohol we can get for her..the other? Not likely!
In my opinion this is certainly not a conflict of interest. Atty. Hughes is the city council solicitor. Which has no significant's to this lawsuit. The newspaper is simply, yet again trying desperately to make city council look bad.
Opinions, Fay, are like a$$holes. Everyones got them, and they're usually full of $hit. Yours also has corn and Metamucil in it.
The significance, turd, is that he is solicitor for the council of the city THAT HE IS INVOLVED IN SUING! Explain to us how that is NOT a conflict, in your uneducated opinion, $hitforbrains.
Fay is simply, yet again trying to make city council look effective.
