So let me get this straight: Members of DD HOPE that the Hilton goes under, along with the restaurant next door?
Now this question is this: Why? Because they don't like Chris Doherty? That's incredibly short-sighted and stupid, to the extreme. Would they be so gleeful if someone they liked were Mayor? If so, what the hell does that say about them?
I look at it this way: This is my home town. I live here by choice. I could just as easily move out of town and, for example, live near Cashuric in DC, but I make the choice to stay. As a resident of Scranton by choice, I want the city to propser. Do I agree with everything the Mayor does? No, but I do still want the city to prosper.
To get "heady" for a moment, I personally think that the gloom and doom you see written at DD isn't just a reflection of what some think about Mayor Doherty...it's also a reflection about how some there choose to view the entire world around them. It's a negative rotting, if you will, that for them comes from the inside out, not the outside in.

If the Hilton does go under (although I think the parent chain will prop it up with every effort), it wouldn't be for lack of effort. Sometimes a business just doesn't work out. This economy is going to claim a lot of victims along its path of fraud-based destruction.
