I find it very interesting that the Kids Across the Hall always bitch about the possible tax increases the city may impose upon them ... but they show little or no interest in what the SSD does. Why is that ... why do we not see Ozzie bitching over there about this????


Only one reply and 186 hits to this particular thread at the time I wrote this post .... Scranton school board budget meeting... is this because Chris Doherty has nothing to do with the SSD??

Interesting Lus, very interesting.

I know that the District has the new teachers contract to fund, but they don't seem too serious when it comes to reducing expenses. For example, I'm convinced that the District's administration is far too large, but I've never even heard of talk about reducing it. In addition, I think that a hard look needs to be taken at the districts sports programs.

If I were a conspiracy theory nut-case, I'd say that Joe is under orders from Janet Evans not to bring up the teachers contract, as she personally benefits from it. Note that I don't believe this myself...although I could see Pilchesky making his own decision to de-emphasize this as a way to prevent possible criticism of district teachers (and his friend and mentor, Ms Evans).

Anyway, Pilchesky is probably too distracted to pay attention to this, what with 'Chocolate-Gate', Gatelli & that Yerke dude. Oh, and his wife is up on Estate Bilking charges too.

Well I guess that Chocolate Gate takes preferance over a possible 6.4 increase in school taxes .... LOL ... not funny really ... but it is at the same time ... you know what I mean?

The SSD tax increase directly benefits Janet Evans. Slam it and you slam those that benefit from it...and we know that Janet is among the "untouchables".

I wouldn't admit to knowing the likes of him (or sharing a trough for that matter) either. But their silence about the SSD tax hike is DEAFENING.
