Seems as though our neighbors ... the kids across the hall are quite disappointed in the Times Leader ... they are not printing those hard hitting stories that the kids have been dreaming about ... In the beginning they were so excited!

Not good so far. Flat. Patronizing. What are they doing sigging their young and inexperienced reports on Scranton as practice or what? Tons of good stories up here. Pick one for crying out loud. If this is their idea of trying to break into Scranton, forget it.

Give them some time to get familiar with all the players and the storylines. Two weeks into it should result in some interesting reading. You know, nothing stops any of us from emailing them some good tips. I know I'm going to.
I'm sure that they are looking forward to your emails ... not for the journalistic value though ... but for some comedic relief. I do not think that they will be anymore willing to print the rumors and innuendo than the TT was ... but good luck to you ... if they wanted to be a gossip rag like the enquirer ... they would have begun this practice well before branching out to the Scranton Area!

And Pappa ... seems as though you have a non believer on yur hands ... even though you asked them to give them time ... what's up ... they no longer follow you blindly ... when did they begin to think for themselves? I'm guessing that you don't like that much!

A lot of people are buying the Leader out of curiosity. That's not going to last very long. Where are the good stories about this corrupt administration?

What the DD folks really want is a Scranton edition of the National Equirer, with headlines like...

"Scranton Mayor Admitts Kills Babies In Fire"
"Scranton Council Member Shorts Cash Register (in 1978)"

What they fail to realize is that, unlike an anonymous poster on a message board or a wacko-old-dude with too much time on his hands, a newspaper is a business entity that is ACCOUNTABLE for its actions.

How to sue a newspaper for libel...found after a 20 second Google Search.

Well you and I both understand that Ag ... but for some reason ... the kids across the hall don't ... and never will understand that. They think it's perfectly acceptable for people to make crap up ... and put it out there for the world to see ... so if they can do it why can't the Newspapers ... and how dare they ask them for proof of their allegations ...

Hell the editor knows who Rube Lomax is ... so even Rude Rube is held accountable for what he/she writes ... is Rube a man or a woman???? Have always wondered about that one.

I believe that the current incarnation of Rube Lomax is a man...but it used to be a women. Truth be told, I think it's usually whomever is the editor of the EC.
