Posts: 2944 Date: Jul 19 10:28 PM, 2008 Views: 3 Here are some of the protesters who marched in front of the courthouse today. Next week they'll be in front of Steamtown. This group will begin to get the attention of the people if they continue to protest at various locations. They got a lot of horn beeps today while I was there. Their spirits are high and they seem adamant and determined to make their statement.
I take my hat off to them all. You know, it wasn't so long ago that one man by the name of Ghandi took down an entire government without even walking. He sat down the whole time. One man. That's all it takes. Here we have a group. These protesters put the younger generation to shame.
It probably would help if Pilchesky would have taken the time to learn to spell the man's name correctly. That aside, I think I'll let Gandhi speak for himself in this case...a quote which I think speaks volumes about the kind of person Joe Pilchesky has become:
Keep your thoughts positive because your thoughts become your words. Keep your words positive because your words become your behaviors. Keep your behaviors positive because your behaviors become your habits. Keep your habits positive because your habits become your values. Keep your values positive because your values become your destiny.

Uh...what exactly were they protesting? The ECTV grants? The green lines still on the roads? Kenny McDowell's life portrait in the Sunday Times? The humidity?
I meant to ask, but I didn't want to be accused of under-the radar racism...or, God forbid, elitism.
in looking at some of the pictures of this latest crusade to tell everyone that three people on council are evil, it was very interesting to note that while the legion of doom were carrying signs, mr. pilchesky was holding a cup of coffee, doesn't seem to be joining in, just supervising. i know that everyone has the right to assemble peacefully (and that includes protesting) but just curious if he cannot formally join inbecause of pending litigation on other matters. anyone want to weigh in on this and clarify?
He doesn't join because he doesn't want to ... he gets people riled up and then stands back and watches ... stirs the $hit to see how much of a stink he can create!

DD has it's own caste system...with the Pilchesky's at the top, and the true followers at the bottom (hence "bottom-feeders" I suppose). I doubt Joe would view it as being elitist...for him, it's more like an affirmation of the natural order of things, with the strong (in his mind) lording over the weak.
In a strange sort of way, Pilchesky does have it right; think about it...he's simply leading a bunch of bitter people who blindly and desparately just want to follow.
