Instead of just writing about the problems of the reclusive woman and her young daughter ... how about going over and helping the lady out Joe ... she reached out to you for a reason ... sure I bet she is happy that you put her problem up for the world to see (NOT) ... but instead of bitching about the problem be a real activist ... solve it ... get a few of the kids together and go over and take care of that yard ... I hear Sammy is really good at that ... how about it Joe ...
Seitzinger targets unprotected downbeaten woman and child. There's low. There's very low, and then there's Doherty low. It's bad enough that Daron Northeast turned the life of Evann Xanthis into an incredible living nightmare with the thousands of trucks it marches past her home on Dickson Ave. Her home has been overtaken with a grainy dust that has hermitized her life and that of her young daughter. She just lost her mother to a lung related problem. Tractor trailer trucks wake her at 6:00 am and fork lifts keep her up till midnight. Now, she gets a knock on her door yesterday and it's an ambassador from the office of Mr. Seitzinger in the name of Jack Liptai who presents her with a citation informing her that the bushes at the rear of her yard (we're talking well over 100 feet back from the road) are over 10" high and she has to get them cut within 5 days or pay a fine. That's just the kind of sh!t that really pisses me off. Why not just go down there Seitzinger and kick her and the little girl in the teeth, or don't you have the gumption for that, you fvcking lowlife, crony blowjob?
I don't think Liptai is certified, I have to check that out.
Oh and what certification is needed to tell someone to do their yardwork? Just wondering!

I agree Lus. Sounds like the family is struggling to keep up with the yard work, so why doesn't JOey take a few of youth, go over and do some yard work. He could give the kids a few dollars and the kids could go use the pool with some cash for refreshments. Why doesn't the LGNA president and the others in that neighborhood help a neighbor in need. Because then he couldn't use this as a bashing stick against the mayor or any other public official.
One of the things my Dad (rest his soul) instilled in me was to help our fellow man and not seek a reward in doing so. Many times my brother and I would help my dad mow a neighbors yard, trim their hedges or in the winter shovel their sidewalk. It was a life lesson in being a positive influence in the universe.
So kids what did we learn today from JOey. Instead of going over and doing some yard work for nothing more than the helping a fellow Scrantonian (being a positive influence on the universe), we should let the world know of their plight and blame it on the mayor.

You KNOW that document had to go through a number of hands between the time it was served on Dickson Ave until the time it was posted on their board. The woman served, a neighbor or two, Hubbard, his mother and a few of THEIR neighbors, until it finally got to pilcheski, and then his wife? And it didn't enter ANYone's mind to lend a hand if this woman is in such dire straights?
It is to my understanding these notices aren't sent out unless someone complains about the height or location of the unsightly bushes/shrubs/weeds. Who knows, maybe they really are a hazard or they're growing out into an alleyway or blocking utility wires. Not to take anything away from this woman who was served, but maybe there's a good reason for the notice.
Well I say that Joey and Danny should do exactly what preacher has stated ... Get together ... go over and take care of this problem before the poor woman has to pay a fine!
Simple solution if you ask me ... come on Joey give up the work on one of the multiple lawsuits for one day ... God knows they will be there in the morning ... do the yard work ... and take the LGNA with you ... problem solved ... and since this woman can't do the yardwork ... make this a weekly or bi-weekly event ... you can call it DD bonding day!

Hey, actually doing yard work is hard...you sweat and stuff...as opposed to sitting at a computer and blaming the Mayor for everything, which takes hardly any effort at all.

Just to satisfy my own curiosity, I drove by there yesterday. It seems there have been some shrubs cut down (not recently) because there's a scattering of dead bushes/trees/shrubs near the rear of the lot. If they are talking about the overgrowth at the rear of the property, there are trees galore - WELL over 10 feet tall - more like 20 to 30 feet tall and have been growing quite a while.
I am sure the people who live on Sanderson Ave appreciate the fact that they've overgrown because they don't have to see the pit of a lot the house sits on, or Daron.
The tall trees are unsightly, but shouldn't be an issue. They're just trees, not the overgrown pr|ckly shrubs which could be dangerous and are specifically stated on the citation. If joe and his crack team of landscapers cleans up the low shrubbery all things should be ok, because although the trees are large, they are a significant sound/dust barrier for the houses behind Dickson Ave.
(get a load of me, pulling a pilcheski ... I'm still a rookie though - I forgot my camera)
Question -- don't the neighborhood associations in the city have the means to help a homeowner in a situation like this (with their dues paid, of course)? I know of a situation someplace up on the Hill where neighbors complained about a vacant lot - they all got together and cleaned it up and the city took all the trees/clippings, etc. Cripes, if this lady is in such dire straights, and has suffered as much as they say she has, someone out there must have a brush hog and a few spare hours they can loan for a day.
That's exactly what I thought Girl ... come on DD and LGNA get it done!
