I love this thread...

Joe "Discovers" That Vacant Buildings In Scranton

Now isn't Pilchesky in Harrisburg frequently, participating in his "Lawsuit of the Month" activities? I've been to Harrisburg a number of times (was there this year as a matter of fact), and guess what...they have vacant building there too!! I know it's hard to believe, but I swear it's true.

Joe and Edith will just happen to be in Erie in about two weeks. I was in Erie last year. Nice town, but alas, they have vacant building there too. Maybe Edith will snap a few pictures during recess and share them with the crew.

Is this the best he can do?

The reason that there are so many small business going out ... is this ... people go into business for themselves because they don't like being bossed around by somebody else so they decide that they have a good idea for a business venture ... they open up with the hopes that they will hit it rich right straight away ... when in reality ... it takes years to start to realize a profit ... I would say that the very least the first 5 years in a business you spend building and putting money back into it and well if you make it ... great ... but many times people do not realize that it takes time and money to get a business off the ground and there is no such thing as a get rich quick venture.

So inevitably there will always be empty storefronts and office space ... one must really sit and think about if they are financially secure enough (the proverbial nest egg being large enough) to do what it takes to get a business up and running and to sustain it for the long run!

The best part is he isn't even correct.Picture 1...that store front was only closed a short time ago and is already leased to another tenet. Picture 2...is the same building but a different store front and is occupied but not open to the public. It is another part of Molly B's the childrens store (which is located directly next door to the store front in picture 2).
She uses it for her own purposes. (Yes she pays rent for both store fronts.) I only know because I happen to know the owners of this building and Molly B's is a store I frequent often, as she has beautiful children's cothes. Her sister has a store front, right around the corner. She sells beautiful collectables and Vera Bradley (sp ?) purses. So Joey, you pussy, it seems to me that you don't support your local businesses very much, since you don't know jack about this business area.

Joe is an idiot ... you didn't expect him to actually research any of this did you ... it's just so easy to put up a picture without explination ...

Hell he's been putting up pictures for how long with no follow up ... but you see putting up the picture gives the appearance the he and Joanne care and are doing something ... when we know that all they intend to do is take the picture and post it ... Kind of like what they did with Rockwell Ave. Bridge ... put up a picture but never bothered to ask questions ... and do the follow up ... but it made them look good to the people who live near that bridge and the people who travel it ...

It's easy to do the popular thing ... however it takes guts to do the right thing ... and well Joey and Joeann always do the popular thing!
