Here's a post about a Scranton cop famous for his DUI enforcement. Does the guy drink? Did he have a DUI incident? I don't know. Neither does Joe. Yet he allows this type of post to exist on his site. Where's the editing for clarity on this one? I know, Joe knows more than everyone else. Let 'er ride until proven innocent.

All American boy my a$$. He wouldn't know freedom of the press from third base if it reared up and punched him in his marble skull. What a weakling. Kill by rumour Joe. Yellow journalism? Yep. By allowing it you are it.

Olecki Gets a DUI??

I have been hearing rumors going around that Robert Olecki got a DUI himself!!!

Can anyone confirm this? I have heard it from at least 5 reliable sources.

Nice little quote from an article about him:

You are expecting too much of Pappa Pilchesky Art .... this is the sort of thing he likes ... he loves it when a discussion opens up about a subject .... and well damn it all to he|| if it's fact or fiction ... he just does not care.

Whomever does the backround checks better start interviewing people
who have worked with Bob McTiernan from Honesdale down thru the
Scranton ranks. Research on someone's backround can go a long way,
but unfortunately this District is soooo damn lazy to investigate. They
would rather ruin someone's reputation based on a couple of friendly
emails and place a schizo' then someone who was founded to be to
overly friendly in his position. Maybe the Scranton District should
interview family and friends of potential candidates and not just base
it on a "few friends".




First, it's not a given that Mr McTiernan is getting this job...it's just a DD rumor at this stage (and we all know how accurate they can be...).

Second, I've known Mr McTiernan for years now. I'm not excusing his any of acknowledged personal failings, but I will say this...as a principal he was a top-notch professional. He was always available to myself or my wife whenever we had a question, problem or concern about our children (my oldest daugther was with him at South Intermediate and then through Scranton HS). Years after she graduated, he still comes up to us and asks how she is doing. Mind you, I'm not some well-connected Scranton politico, so he had no reason to court favor with me.

I have NEVER known Bob McTiernan to be abusive towards anyone. This is yet another example of rumor mongering simply for the sake of generating internet traffic.

Amazaing...you can get a posting deleted at DD for noting the FACTS about how Janet Evans got her full-time teaching position...but make up any old crap about anyone else and it's "exercising free speech".

You're right Art...Pilchesky isn't a real moderator. In fact, he's not a real man either, because a real man in my book has some sense of honor and conviction when it comes to doing the right thing. Allowing unchallenged rumor mongering for the sake of self-gratification ("Look at me, I'm Joe Pilchesky...my site generates lots of traffic...aren't I controversial?") is the stuff of gutter-dwelling snipes.

Oooops, did I just call Joe Pilchesky a "gutter-dwelling snipe"? Maybe Glenn will have to admonish me, right after he adds his two cents to either the Officer Olecki of Bob McTiernan threads. Go for it Glenn...I'll take my verbal tongue lashing right after you give Joe his.

Another false accusation against the Scranton PD. Nelson this is the same sight you advertise on TV during your First Amendment Rights?

WHOW and that guy is the Treasurer of the FOP, makes me wonder how strong these "brotherhoods" are.

Might be one of the reasons MAW distanced herself from all the dee dee negativity about the FOP. But who knows, maybe she's just like everyone else and has a few other generic usernames she posts under.

Same here Agam. He was top notch. I had no complaints what-so-ever,even when my kid was being disciplined. They deserved it and the punishment fit the act. He was totally professional in my book and had my full support.

If Mary Ann Wardell wanted to post, she would use "MAW" or her real name. Her health has its ups and downs, and she doesn't feel well for extended periods of time. Getting run over by a 4Runner can do that to you.

She was run over a few years ago ... I remember when that happened. Sorry to hear that all these years later she is still having trouble ...

I don't think she is using another name as her posts were very distinctive ... she's a very intelligent woman and he|| I don't see other posters that have that same style as she does ...

The only reason I mention MAW specifically, is because she has made quite a few good points and for the most part has posted with much more dignity than the rest of the upstanding citizens across the hall. But I don't recall seeing (m)any posts from her recently and presumed she's travelling the high road by removing herself from the melee that is dee dee dot com.

I would think that's exactly what she has done ... though I am sure that maybe she is still having problems as Glenn said ... but she has more class than the rest of them ... maybe she's just out there enjoying her family ... I'm sure being a grandmother is much more appealing than being surrounded by the rabid DD posters. Hopefully she is feeling fine and just enjoying her family!
