...we have this thread about Mayor Doherty driving a Dodge Durango. A few comments/questions/points to ponder: - How do we know that the Dodge Durango was paid for the by city? Could it be that's why it doesn't have municipal plates? - Many vehicles these days already come with tinted windows more or less standard. My very non-luxury car has them. I know, I know...the tinted windows were just an excuse for some atypical DD sexual induendo, and since Judy Gatelli and Sherri are mentioned, it wasn't possible to use the old DD standard "on their knees" chestnut. - If this was purchased by the city, then I can see why an SUV would be useful...the Mayor might be expected to be out in various conditions on city business. For years mayors were driven around in Crown Vics...despite the fact that they didn't need to haul around 6 passengers and a ton of luggage. - As for the Mayor's hands "being soft" (as that filthy racist pig Anti mentioned), I'm thinking that's an example of the pot calling the kettle black. Anti is quite the (keyboard) warrior. I'm sure he has tons of calluses from all that typing. - If this were a luxury SUV or something exceedingly large (a la Hummer, Excursion, Suburban, etc,), I could see complaining...assuming it was the city that paid for it in the first place. But in the world of SUV's a Durango is a fairly conservative choice.
