The reason Casey backs Obama is his family is makeing money off the Obama campaign. [Fact: Casey's sister has a printing company in Dunmore that does work for several campaigns; in fact, they probably have done printing work for Bill Clinton's campaigns in the past. My understanding is that this company prints material for republican candidates as well. Scratch one STUPID DD rumor.]
I hope Obama Kicks Hillarys ass...Just to knock Dogherty [Hee hee....he made a funny! Get it, "Dog..."; I wonder if Granma caught that one?]out of it..He makes me sick just watching him grin at her. And Corbett talked about county workers working on the clock for Obama. The Mayors part time Secretary (Kathy H.) making 30 sum thousand a year working 3 days a weekhas the Mayors door locked and she is gone over to the Hillary Campaign HQ's Check it out....[Yes, some of that may be true. However, how much time did Ms Evans spend on the cell phone at Scranton high during her campaigns? How about the field trip that she cut short once so that she could....well....never mind. The point is that these folks love to selectively point to events.]
I will NEVER vote for Casey again. Period. This is theirst time inthe history of scranton that we have a Potential Presidential Nominee from here [Ms Clinton was born in Chicago, Illinois] and some politicians go against the hometown Candidate. [That would be true if the town in question were Chicago] I will vote republican for the first time in my life in Nov. if Hussien Obama is the Dem nominee. [Here we have subtle terrorist jab #1 that Barrack Obama is a terrorist.] And I will vote and campaign against every elected official in lackawanna County who supported him. He and his wife hate our country, [I think I've heard Obama say that he loves our country; has he been critical of race relations? Yes, and so has she. Have they always used the best choice of words to describe these feelings? No. But if a tendency towards poorly using words were that bad, then our current President would have been impeached six years ago.] pander to terrorists [Not so subtle terrorist jab #2. Specifically how has he pandered? I have NEVER HEARD usch a thing.] and will be the complete destruction of our country. This man is beholden to Move-on. org [MoveOn.org is about as dangerous as "Swifties for Truth" and countless other political extremeists...nothing unique there. What's more, they spread their money out among many candidates...and I'm not even sure Obama has gotten any of it yet.] and all the other extreme liberals. He is decietful, distrustful and dishonest. As they say, your gonna get what you wish for. Well, at least we'll have our guns and religion to cling to. God Bless all you Obama lovin America haters!
The last sentence referenced Obama's "guns and religion" comment from about two weeks ago. I think what he said was incredibly stupid, especially to an audience of folks in of all places San Francisco. That said, every candidate has their moments of "open mouth, insert foot". If someone judges a candidate soley on that basis, then it's no wonder they are blindly following the likes of Joe Pilchesky. People should vote for the candidate that, on balance, best articulates a vision for American that they argree with; note I said "on balance"...no candidate is going to be perfect in every regard.
As for myself, I'm still not sure who I am going to vote for. I was leaning towards Obama, but who knows. I also think John McCain is a good man, although his position on healthcare reform (namely he has no position other than to spout crap about ending lawsuit abuse...you know, the 3% of total healthcare costs that are attributed to lawsuit abuse) is so similar to that of President Bush that I don't think I would ever vote for him in a general election.

I have to agree with you on the stupidity of this particular comment Ag ... If they are in the printing business I don't imagine that they would turn down a job simply because they don't support a particular candidate. They are in the printing business to make money I don't think that they are going to turn away a candidate because they don't support them. Hell I'm sure they do most of the printing for all local candidates also ... I'll bet if you look at the candidates expense reports you more than likely will see Universal Printing on most reports. That's where most get those annoying little cards they hand out on election day!

I only see this, and it has nothing to do with Casey.
Go to a Doherty fundraiser and you get an ex-president.
Go to an Evans fundraiser and you get Daryl Dawkins.
All brains, politics, policies and Lord knows what else aside. Anyone think Evans has a chance to become mayor?
Here's another thought. She won't run for mayor. She has about a dozen years left to get her school district pension. Who thinks she's going to walk away from that and take a 20G salary cut for her ego? I say no way. She stays in council or pursues a state gig worth more with a better pension.
You read it here first.
JANET EVANS WILL NOT RUN FOR MAYOR UNTIL SHE RETIRES FROM HER TEACHING JOB. She can only hope she's still relevant at that point.
Great point Art...Ms Evans is pursuing the "multiple" government pension plan option.
> School Board - I am shocked that members even earn a pension benefit. I'll have to see if I can find out anything on this. By the way, even if there is a benefit, the only time that could count towards the amount she would get would be actual time on the board...so time away would be irrelevant. Once a pension benefit is earned, it can never be taken away (just ask OJ Simpson).
> Teacher - I'm sure she is now fully vested in the pensions offered to teachers (I believe that they have a defined benefit plan plus a 403b arrangement).
> Other Public Service - No pension for the Council seat, so I'm sure she is looking for that third piece of the puzzle. The state legistlature has, from what I understand, a fairly generous pension plan.
And let's not forget that, unlike what her campaign posters show, Ms Evans is not a 30 year old any more. She probably has earned a retirement benefit(s) at whatever prior employer(s) she had prior to beginning her illustrious life of public service.
Yes, Ms Evans is definitely planning on having a secure retirement at the taxpayer's expense. But what the heck, maybe she think's that's her reward for spending a lifetime with David.

I think Art was refering to her teaching pension. There is no pension for serving on the school board. Despite her ridiculous use of her college graduation picture, she is much much closer to retirement than 20 years. LOL LOL I also agree with Art. I said that awhile ago, no way she is dumping her pension for a shot at a 4 year stint. (assuming she wins which is highly doubtful)

Correct, I meant school district pension and corrected my post. Sure she's going to take a $20,000 a year pay cut and walk away from summers off and a great pension. I'm touched that she loves us so much to make that sacrifice.
