Question on the Mamas Boy from lower Greenridge

I might be off base here, But does anybody else find it terribly annoying that this guy knowingly buys a house in a flood plain. Which had to be dirt cheap because of it. And then cries and acts like its the end of the world andthat the city is responsible for his home flooding, and he is entitledfor something to be done. Is this the situation or am I wrong?

I can sympathize for the people that owned their houses since way back in the day, but if this guy just bought the house within the last 15 years or so.........

Well he claims that it never flooded before he bought it ... but anyone who has spent their life in Scranton knows that it has flooded in lower greenridge for a long time.

I know that the other side of the bridge has been flooding ... it was flooded in 1996 ... and then again after that ... 2 or 3 times ... so I find it hard to believe that it never flooded there until after Dan bought his house.

So to answer your question ... yes I find it incredibly annoying that he knowingly did buy this home in a flood zone, and then cries about it. Although I do think that they shoud do something to correct this problem ... and I wish that they would just give him his siren already ... and no Dan we are not making fun of you ... we are just wondering what in the world made you buy a home in a flood zone.

I think the whole flooding problem is an issue, but it's not the issue for Danny-Boy. As evidence I point to his pending date in the courtroom with Daron Northeast. That company has nothing to do with flooding in Green Ridge, but it does have a common thread with Green Ridge flooding, namely an opportunity for self-promotion by Danny-Boy. No, Danny is interested in becoming "someone", so flooding, evil company, etc. are just means to that end.

Like Lus, I agree that the government should take reasonable steps to help protect that area, but the bottom line is that anyone who lives near a river should realize that they run the risk of getting flooded. Anything to the contrary is just intellectual dishonesty.

Danny loves the attention this provides. However he is eventually going to learn that if you slander someone or something there is a cost. Put another way, City Council may provide him with a forum for self-promotion because they have to...they are a governmental body. Daron Northeast isn't a governmental body...they owe Danny nothing. Personally I am glad that they are taking him to court. Does that mean I agree with how Daron conducted business? No. But that company, like all of us, has the right to defend itself...and a right to not be used by someone like Hubbard as a tool for self-promotion.

actually, heard that he didn't buy the house at all. he lives next to his parents and both houses were part of homestead. they gave him the house!!! how many people have given you folks a house that you can't stop complaining about??? maybe he's just upset he had to return home from wherever he was?? not sure, but you didn't hear anything of this guy four years ago or so.

Failed in-bound Call Center representative Dan really wants to be someone. Having fllooding to complain about...having Daron Northeast to complain about...having city workers remove pictures during a fire to complain about....they are means, not an end for Danny-Boy. I suspect he wants to be thought of as something of a Pilchesky v2.0 (Pilchesky for the New Millennium).

This guy has more in common with Walter Mitty than anyone else in that his reach far exceeds his grasp.
