Doherty did a better job than the Secret Service agents. Maybe a career change is in store for Mayor Doherty and businessman Doherty.

A 45-minute delay in a parade. A parade should continue on; it should never be stopped.

The parade was scheduled to begin at 11:45. The second group passed by my area at around 11:30. What time zone were you in, and how is that a 45 minute delay? Seems to me that it got off to a start 15 minutes early. The whole parade seemed to go faster this year than it did last year, actually.

Perception and reality are two different things. I guess no one knows that better than you.

Citizens have been coming before Council for years, asking for someone to look into this matter, only to be ignored. Citizens have asked for audits, subpoenas, and documented proof as to what taxpayers' money has been collected and where the money is. Citizens have been stonewalled every step of the way.

And who was the Finance Chair during that whole time? Why didn't she unilaterally take action, as she was within her power to do? And why is she above blame for this situation? Maybe we should be protected from elected officials such as Janet Evans, too, right?

You seem to have all the answers. How about squatting a few of your little turds of wisdom out for us over here, too, sir. We're also citizens, taxpayers, and residents.

I know this Bill,a PA resident serving on Active Duty Military outside the State of PA does NOT pay state or local taxes only Federal Income Tax on his or herMilitary Pay. This same exemption applies to Military retirement pay. So if you remained a Scranton Resident since you joined, then you have not paid any State or Local Taxes on any of your Military pay. Amazingly, that has never come up.

I fetched that all myself!

I would think that statement would be easy to back up ... it would be in the tax laws which should be easily accessed online ... However I do think that I recall Mr. Jackowicz claiming that he moved out of the area for a while and then came back ... but on that I am not 100% sure I could be thinking of another Doomer.

Your not a snob ... you are a very important part of PD ... you just need people to prove that they are not here to disrupt the board and get us all bickering ... think about the times that you have been right.

That is what I gave my accountant for why I do not have to the same taxes. Though, I first hand witnessed the privilege to vote when a person risked everything to vote and dip their finger in the blue ink, I have until now kept silent. The cause we fought for will and never shall represent what the other site represents.
