Wow this is slightly over the top. I think maybe it's Mr. Doherty who should think about seeing a lawyer for a change. This is a horrible accusation, not to mention totally ridiculous. It was a horrible accident..period. This, by the way, is why the unions are getting virtually no support from the average person (like me), would I have had normally stood up for them and said they deserve to be fairly compansated, yes. Will I now? no! They have allowed their leadership to align with the ilk across the hall and have engaged in dispicable behavior to futher their agenda, as such they have lost my respect, sorry. Do I still respect what firemen and policemen do in general, yes. Do I respect this current crew of policemen and firemen, no. Remember what your mother used to say? Tell me who your friends are and I will tell you what you will become. You have become DD!! Sad and totally beneath you. I am very sorry you allowed yourself through your union leadership to sink so low.

What a statement that is. Trying to embarrass the Chief? Because they can't get to me??? The reason Doherty has refused to buy any equipment is because 'they' did get to him. Crash Doherty is a walking open nerve, just look at him and he winces.

No, Mr. Doherty, if you go around the city, people will tell you that if not for you and your useless, crony Chief Davis, Capt. Robeson wouldn't be DEAD. He's DEAD because you KILLED him. He's DEAD because the department didn't have the prevention equipment every other department in the country has.The department is lucky there's only one fatality. Mr. Doherty, you're a killer. Chief Davis is a killer. You both KILLED Capt. Robeson with you arrogant, ignorant negligence and disrespect for firefighters. You may as well have walked up to him with a pistol and put a bullet right in his head. Same thing. Who's next?Any responsible paper would have properly labeled you both as killers. You're very fortunate mayor, that Mr. Robeson doesn't have a family member who thinks as I do. And, the fire department can take some blame, as well. They're playing soft with Doherty. Have been. Tooooooooo f*ucking soft. Too much walking on eggshells. What did it net them? They now have a dead fireman for the want of relatively cheap equipment (sticks) that they could have purchased themselves and billed the city, embarrassing the mayor if he didn't pay up. I thought the department was comprised on men. Why do they have the guts and courage to fight these fires and they don't have the balls to handle this disgusting puke of a many and mayor properly. Nothing personal, but why does it take a dead fireman to make a spine grow?
Dear Fireman, those things hanging between your legs are NOT on-call to be used only when a fire breaks out. Use them when you're getting bitch-slapped, insulted and disrespectedby this mayor, as he has been for six years now. He's making a career out of humiliating all of you. Your press conference is too late. Capt. Robeson is dead.Pull out the 'other' hoses and stick them right up this mayor's ass. You have money, do you not? Use it. Get sopkemen to council meetings repeatedlyand crush this bastard of a lowlife. Gervasi has a big mouth. Big balls. Speaks well. Set that prick loose on Doherty. Take the leash off him. AND LEAVE IT OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!
ARE YOU ALL GOING TO JUST SIT BACK AND DO NOTHING WHILE THIS LOWLIFE RUNS FOR MAYOR AFTER A FIREFIGHTER WAS KILLED DUE TO HIS RETALIATION AGAINST ALL OF YOU. SNAP OUT OF IT.

IHave...I was just going to post that...but instead, I'll hi-lite the worst sentence:
As written by Joe Pilchesky... "No, Mr. Doherty, if you go around the city, people will tell you that if not for you and your useless, crony Chief Davis, Capt. Robeson wouldn't be DEAD. He's DEAD because you KILLED him. "
Chris Doherty has been guilty of bad judgement at times (as have we all, btw), but I am ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that he has never killed anyone.
This is YET ANOTHER EXAMPLE of how Pilchesky is a mentally and emotionally ill human being. Community Activist my large German a$$...
Now if Dave Gervasi is a stand-up guy...and I hope he is...he will renounce this nonsensical crap.

So JOey reposts his original post - must be to clarify exactly what he said verses what the mayor said verses what NADB posted verses ...
Then the remaining DOlts at JOey LAnD proceed to rehash the Acker street fire and death of a childand promptly blame the mayor for thatalso, just like they did back when it first occurred.

RE: Union wants Fire Chief out -- news conference @ 10:30 hearing what the mayor said in that article, wouldn't it be safe to say now that he is also responsible for the death of achild in the acker ave. fire last year?
RE: Union wants Fire Chief out -- news conference @ 10:30 Two issues here before the mayor can be labeled as a killer and held accountable to Capt. Robeson's death.
1. Did the department ever have the equipment to detect electrical current in the first place? If it did, where was it on that occasion? If it did, did it ever use it? What was prior practice in these situations? Certainly, electrical shock is a potential at every fire, what was done in the past to prevent death by electrocution?
2.If it didn't have the equipment, why not? Was it requested and denied? Did the mayor, in fact, know they needed the equipment and refuse to get it?
I can see Joe's point, and maybe the accountability is or isn't with the administration. Maybe Fire Department leadership should be held accountable, too. For sure, it's sad that Jimmy had to die to get anything done. The municipal unions always walk on egg shells because they have to.A prick like Doherty can make things worse than they are, butplaying soft, as Joe puts it, has gotten them nothing in 6 years. It might be time to go on the attack and Dave Gervasi is just the dog to do it.

An interesting point to ponder is this: what does the Mayor do about this? His normal tact has been to ignore Pilchesky, as responding to him would be simply giving him what he cries for so much: attention. Now, in an apparant act of desperation, you have Pilchesky accusing the Mayor of killing another person...does this warrant a change in tactics on the part of the Mayor?
If I were the Mayor, I'd have a letter hand-delivered to the serial bully requiring that the statement be removed; if it wasn't, then I'd take him to court. The letter would be three sentences long...short and to the point. This could be what the shriveled-up old man wants; however at some point the only way to deal with a bully is to stand up to him.
Similar issue with the Scranton Times, in a way...to their credit, they don't normally report on the rantings of this lunatic, but he normally doesn't accuse an elected official of murder either. Should this particular posting be treated more as news, with the result being that Pilchesky is exposed as being the truly sick human being that he is? Or does this simply give him more media attention and traffic to his site...two things he clearly loves nearly as much as his ego and his 'vette.

Anti brings up a good point, bet dollars to doughnuts JOey gives him a secret PM speech about staying inline. This doesn't sound like the Anti we know, what gives?
RE: Union wants Fire Chief out -- news conference @ 10:30 If Davis is such a bad guy, how come more wasn't said about him on this message board over the last 3 years? What has been said about him? I should do a search.
If Davis has been a bad leader for many years, how come the fireman are complaining now? I'm sure the unfortunate death played a huge role in this, but there does seem to politics involved.

absoulutly positivly 100% no reaction. That is my opinion. Jow was never popular to begin with but recently his popularity has shrivled, much like his head. He wants attention, none will be given.
The Times doesn't even bother to go after him for clear cut, open and shut, slam dunk, repetitive cases of copyright violations. He's simply less than small time in their, and our, opinion, and not worth the effort.
I wonder if the Sparklit TOS agreement addresses any of these situations at all?

RE: Union wants Fire Chief out -- news conference @ 10:30 You guys are using a tragic circumstance for political retribution against the Mayor. Whatever the Mayor has or has not done in our city, He isNOT responsible for that tragic accident. The Mayor was not in that bucket that day. He was not at the controls of that ladder truck. He was not told to cut the power. You all were educated I hope, you all know electricity is dangerous and water and electricity dont mix. Your right, the fireman should grow a set and explain to YOUthat this was a tragic accident. Period , end of story. You should answer to your god for bringing Capt. Robeson into this. Let him rest in peace.

They are disrespecting the memory of Capt. Robeson ... and they are also disrespecting the memory of young Xander Browning who died in the fire last year at this time ... they are once again bringing the fire in West Scranton up ... two tradgies that they are exploiting to somehow justfiy the vile things that they say ...
One would think that it would be so much better to try and come up with a solution to the power problem that took the life of Capt Robeson rather than putting the blame on someone who clearly was not responsible for this situation.
From what I gather the power company does not like to shut down all power because of the inconvenience that it may cause to a neighborhood ... but I would think if they sent out a survey ... and asked the customers that most would say Shut it DOWN ... I can live withthout power for a few hours ... what I could not live with is the thought of someone dying because I didn't want to miss American Idol ... priorities people ... and to lay blame on the Mayor for this is unreasonable.
