The single most heralded argument on dd.comn since it's inception, and the day a judge rules that the recovery plan is valid and will be enforced there's not a word of it mentioned on dd.com?
I smell something fishy. Did Joe edit posts? Have they quit? Did they take their eyes off of the prize?
I spent years reading about how Doherty was wrong and the city would never win that suit. Well, now the city has won and there's no comment. Next stop - U.S. Supreme Court. Until then the plan is implemented. Why no comments? No questions? No arguments against the ruling?
How is that possible? Isn't that the main issue (other than the handicap ramp)?
No wonder JOey's been raggin' more than usual today. Besides bitchin' at EDith, he's must be busy putting together the "Info needed on Judge Harold A. Thomson" thread or the ThomsonDeceit.com site.
Must be the calm before the big storm - JOey LAnD Imploding On Itself!!!

I want everyone to stop and think about one thing ... Joe Pilchesky is not a lawyer ... he's just a guy playing a lawyer on the internet. Please don't trust your legal needs to this man.
Is "Recovery" a Month Away? Judge sides with city administration Updated 12:45 p.m.
Judge Harold A. Thomson today clarified an October ruling that tossed out a $2.4 million arbitration award to the city's police union.
Judge Thomson ruled that the award violated the city's state-mandated and voter-approved recovery plan, giving city officials the right to dictate terms of a new contract.
Today's ruling allows the administration to impose working conditions and implement the recovery plan.
The city hasn't been able to implement its recovery plan since voters overwhelmingly approved it in 2002. Scranton has been designated distressed since 1992.
I agree with Art though, this has been dramatically underplayed by DD. Why? My two cents is that Pilchesky actually doesn't give a rip about the city's unionized employees, unless they can be used as a stick to beat Mayor Doherty wtih. That's ok though, as some in the Police & Fire Unions use Pilchesky for the very same reason. This ruling seems to take the wind out of both sails, so both (the unions and Pilchesky) will need a bit of time for spin doctoring.

That's not the way the recovery plan works - a contract will not be "settled on," - it will be imposed. The wording of the plan pretty much says that there is no negotiation.
OK then Art, let's hope that the new contract imposed upon them is fair and reasonable while also being within the parameters of the recovery plan. And that this new imposed plan brings peace and healing to all involved.
JOey LAnD is very, very quiet today. JOey finally speaks up about the Recovery Plan. Seems NADB gave him an assignment to use the word rape in four sentences - what a DOlt. And again more empty promises as to how and when he's going to strike back - what a SUPER DOlt. JOey you're suppose to work with those chemicals in a well ventilated area, not huffing them in one of JOey Jr's lunch bags.
RE: "Road paved for recovery" I don't know what I'd consider more contemptuous:
1. Gatelli's attempted rape of free speech;
2. Fanucci's perpetual rape of the English language;
3. Doherty's rape of the recovery plan; or
4. The Lynett's rape of journalistic responsibility.
We await his announcmentof arun for Congress and then the recovery plan dogs get unleashed (at the right time). If he doesn't announce that, then we wait for his announcment that he's running for re-election for mayor. I think he's running for Congress. Perhaps I'm off base on that, perhaps not. If the winds prove accurate, he is. Lifting the distressed status opens it to great scrutiny and none of it is positive for his ambitions. We're just waiting, like a pack of lions waiting for bambi to stray out into the open.
