their hero and role model (outside of JOey) is a television character that has the morals of a snake and is on his best day a sociopath. Vic Mackey would make the Anti's ICN Police force look like kittens. Ya, Scranton needs a Vic Macky about as much as we need a dump for depleted rods from a nuclear reactor.

RE: Lyman got a bite at the lure at council

ic Mackey is alternately repellent and riveting. As a cop, he gets the job done, often with his fists.Vick Mackey is a perfect example of the ends justify the means

Just like the DOlts at JOey LAnd - they believe their tactics as a means to an end, in other words the ends justify the means. So anything & everything is fair game at JOey LAnd, as long as ________ is removed from office and those they like stay in or get elected. They all need a Hobby - perhaps knitting.

Detective Vic Mackey, portrayed by
Michael Chiklis, is a fictionalLos Angeles Police Department detective and leader of the Strike Team, a four-man anti-gang unit in the FXcrime drama series The Shield. Mackey is a corrupt yet extremely effective police officer; he steals from drug dealers, beats suspects and has committed murder on three occasions. Two of the victims were violent gangsters, though the first was an undercover officer trying to put Mackey and his team behind bars, despite their service to the community. Mackey sees his tactics as a means to an end. Despite his misdeeds, he is a devoted father, a loyal partner to his teammates and will readily protect those he sees as innocent victims.

Did you ever watch "St Elsewhere" too? That was my other favorite show of the time.

I never got into that show, although I heard it was really good. Even back then I really didn't watch all that much TV. Now I watch virtually none, but thankfully I have three teenage daugthers who keep my up to date on popular culture.
