I disagree Legion...in fact, I think Glenn Cashuric is a very honorable person who would make an excellent public servant. It's for those very same reasons why I am continually perplexed that he posts at DD. The point of my post was to contrast Glenn with DD poster 'Judy...'.

Anyway, this isn't Pilchesky-ville, so we can agree to disagree about Glenn.

Spoken like a true Republican. Oh...wait...are there any of those left in Lackawanna County? Yes...I confess...I thought it was very important to do whatever I could to make the 2007 elections a very miserable experience for three candidates, especially since I knew they ALL followed the website.

Apparently a lot of other people felt the same way I did. None of them won.

I'm officially retiring from DD, by the way. The 2007 elections are over, and so is my career as a gadfly...

Glenn ... say it aint so ... you were like a voice of reason at times over at DD ... they need that ...

Doomers Glenn can post there and here ... there is no requirement that you should pick one over the other ... so you know ... I do trust Glenn ... because I have read his posts ... and he's not one of the sheep who blindly follow ... he gives his opinion and if they happen to agree with him great ... but if they don't he's not one of those who change the way he feels in order to get along with the goons ... They need more posters like him over there.

You don't post often Glenn (here or there) but I must say that I will miss your insightful posts ... I hope that on occassion you will pop in and at least say hello ...

I feel sorry for Glen. He actually thought he made some kind of difference with his posts on DD.

I don't think he grasped the fact that they are all a bunch of losers with no loyalty, integrity, or smarts. In fact, GC actually embraced DD at the beginning of the year when he was running for office. I think he thought that forum was some kind of widely read and trusted source with some type of credibility. Boy, did he jump on the wrong bandwagon.

DD is nothing but a source of amusement for many people, and PD is simply a site where WE derive pleasure by making fun of those across the hall.

I think DD is widely read, in some circles...namely municipal and county employees. You can almost smell the bitterness of government service in their posts. Now that's not to say that everyone who works in the government is bitter, because I know that's not the case, but for some the "I hate my job but I'm too lazy to do anything about it" comes across loud and clear. Doubt me? Go and pay your garbage fee in person at city hall...which I did for my mother earlier in the year...you will get a dose of negativity so strong that you'll need to shower afterwards just to get it off.

Anyway, I was tough on Glenn at first, but I think he did try to moderate the tone of the board and there is a body of postings on DD that prove the point. That moderation was used by Pilchesky though on several occasions, most noteably the whole Piccolino episode, but you can't blame Glenn for that one. With his departure from DD (and I do hope he keeps his word on that one...), the collective IQ of the board will drop by 60%.

I give Glenn all the credit in the world for making the valliant effort of talking sense to that special group of people. Too bad it didn't do anyone a damned bit of good ...

Come on. Do you HONESTLY believe that?

I think he thought that forum was some kind of widely read and trusted source with some type of credibility.

Read my posts from 2005 and early 2006, and then talk with Mayor DiBileo and State Representative Janet Evans. DD is primarily read by city residents (and certain county officials). I knew (a) I was getting crushed in the city anyway, and (b) the Mid Valley and Scott Township voters didn't give a damn about Chris Doherty, Janet Evans, or city politics.

Boy, did he jump on the wrong bandwagon.

If you haven't guessed by now, I don't jump on bandwagons. I am discontinuing my posts because there is no further reason to post there. The controller and the commissioners are gone (hooray), and Janet Evans and Gary DiBileo are forming a circular firing squad that will take down the entire "resistance" operation in the city by 2009. Politics will enter a brief quiet period after that, which will last until the city budget collapses.

If you want to know my reasons for doing something, please ask and I will answer honestly. But kindly do not assume that I viewed DD as anything but what it really was--a forum for public comment. For better or worse, it serves a valuable purpose.

I understand that Ag thinks it's good that you are leaving DD ... I still think it's a shame because you served a purpose over there ... just as you believe they serve a purpose ... I don't really agree on that one ... but we can agree to disagree ... you stated your opinions and to hell with what they thought of you ... you stuck to your guns ... and there are not enough posters over across the hall that do that.

I meant what I said ... if you are giving up posting all together ... I hope that you pop in on occassion to let us know how you are doing ...

Glenn, I simply have my opinion, for what it's worth. I have read your posts on DD, and agree with many of them.

Don't take it personally, but I disagree with your assesment of DD. It's not, nor has it ever beenvaluable for anything. It's a forum for public gossip, and that's about it. You could have gotten your message out in other ways, but when you lie with dogs, you get.....well, you know.

I'll never forget how DD got started. Baldy and his wife were plastering flyers on the windshields of cars at Keyser and Oak. It took off because all the losers and malcontents of the area suddenly had forum to post rumors about anyone and everyone.

I wouldn't be surprised, Glenn, if people actually didn't vote for you BECAUSE you're name was associated with DD.
