paraphrase from pilcheski :::...if we're forced underground, we'll organize. We won't be there alone, and we'll go looking for all those people who have been offering us substantial underground money for the last two years. ... :::
Why don't you use this "substantial underground money" to keep your girl's soapbox afloat instead of bitching and moaning about it? Put your (everybody else's) money where your mouth is, fella.
At least now we know where a portion of the monies used to file all these lawsuits came from --- Joe's ill-gotten gains from the missus' ill-gotten gains.
I can hear that conversation now ... "Pop, come and live with us in Scranton." "and bring your checkbook with you" "Nope."
"Pop, come on - you can have your own room and everything." "out back by the shed" "Nope."
"Pop, Joe'll build you a ramp so you can come and go as you please." "but we'll be needing some seed money to get it started" "Nope."
"Pop, Joe's not all THAT bad." "except when he makes me wax that bald-ass vette of his" "Heh."
"Pop, sign this paper, it's for a complimentary subscription for the Scranton Times-Tribune." "just sign the paper, old man and check how things are in Erie, while you're at it"
That sleezeball probably took a hundred g's right off the top of Joanne's bucket o' payola and invested it in Hammermill and Bic stocks. After the first two or three lawsuits, the stocks shot through the roof and now he can file his nonsense strictlyon the stock residuals.

I don't get why Joe feels that Joanne is entitled to that money ... just because you are the parent of someone ... you are then obligated to leave whatever money you have to your child or children ... I think not.
For me, taking care of my mother and father when they needed me was about nothing more than the fact that when I needed to be taken care of they did the job and did it well and when they were in need it was my joy to repay them for all that they did for me ... was it easy ... Hell no , it's never easy to see your parents failing ... I got nothing in the way of money or possessions for this ... hell I didn't need anything and didn't want anything ... it was about the opportunity to spend time with and get to know my parents better and to understand them ... and that was worth more than any money ever could be.

What I don't get is this -- they wanted to build a ramp on their home for the father and someone put the kaibash on it. OK granted, I'd be upset, but I'd get on with my life and build one that can be taken up and down when it was needed, (and maybe, just maybe) that way you can get by the permit because it isn't a permanent fixture to the dwelling. Especially since the dwelling in question is owned by a carpenter who likes to brag about all his physical accomplishments.
Anyway, if the father was that bad off, why the hell did she ship him off to God-knows-where in Erie? There are plenty of personal care, assisted living and nursing facilities right here (and damned fine ones, I might add) where she could still look in on him and participate in his care - and therefore maybe EARNING some of the monies to which she thinks she is entitled. Out of sight, out of mind, I guess.
These two are a couple of money grubbing sonsabitches and this recent turn of events just adds more proof to the fact. It's one thing to have a set of beliefs and values, no matter how twisted they are, but to actually steal from a dying old man ... really rotten.
Entitled aside she must show that she went through the proper channels first. For instance the money in my saving account is mine and I am "entitled" to it, that's a given, but.....if I break into the bank after hours to take my money out I will be in big trouble, despite it being my money, even if I never touch anyone else's cash but my own. So whether or not Edith is "entitled" to the money will only be half the question, the other half will be... did she go through the propers channels and procedures before "taking" it? As I said before this will be very interesting indeed!

So if Channel 61 does go off the air, is that a sign of impending Armageddon? All the LOaDs speak and act as if it is so. BTW, glad to see Foamin' had her emails from one of the Evans with her when she spoke. Also she looked kind of rushed, like she didn't have enough time to put it into her own "voice" for her rant.

Now how would city council ever function without channel 61? That would be impossible if it weren't for the fact that it actually did function without channel 61 for something like 130 years.
Does this mean that I'm against channel 61? No, but there is a difference between a must have...which would be the right of a Scranton resident to address city council...and something that is nice to have...which could be something like listening to Ray Lyman going mustang all over the English language.

Actually ... if Channel 61 went away ... I think that more business would get done ...
We had speakers before the cameras ... they came spoke about an issue ... did not insult ... they had no audience or cameras to play to so it was respectful for the most part ... I personally think the cameras should go ... just my opinion!

I taped the "Janet Evans Variety Show" last night but didn't get to watch it yet. I did however get to see the very tail end of it. After the meeting ended, was that Ray Lyman speaking civilly to Judy and then to Sherri?
I wuold have LOVED to have been a fly on the wall. They should move the cameras out into the hallway so we could have followed THAT conversation.
...but...but...but...if Channel 61 goes blank, how will I keep up with the doings on Parrot Avenue? You don't know how very much I rely on Jimmy Stucker for the latest.
