OK ... now this is just a thought ... but I was thinking that there is an immediate need for ... dictionaries for all DD.com Sheep. Being that we are a kinder site than they are I was thinking that we should feel compelled to have a fundraiser to aid in the purchase of these very expensive books ... what do you all think?
They are accusing the mayor of nepotism because he hired the neice of Mary Ellen Coleman ... now we all know that is not NEPOTISM ...
For those DD sheep that read this site ... here is the definition of NEPOTISM:
Main Entry: nepotism Function:noun Pronunciation: 'ne-p&-"ti-z&m Etymology: French npotisme, from Italian nepotismo, from nepote nephew, from Latin nepot-, nepos grandson, nephew -- more at NEPHEW : favoritism (as in appointment to a job) based on kinship
Now when they say kinship ,... they mean being the Mayor's kin ... do you all get it?
Here maybe this will help you out:
Main Entry:1kindred Function:noun Pronunciation: 'kin-dr&d Etymology: Middle English, from kin + Old English r[AE]den condition, from r[AE]dan to advise, read 1 a: a group of related individuals b: one's relatives 2: family relationship :KINSHIP
I truely hope that this clears things up for all of you.
It must be nice to be a dooobee, or in this case, a niece of a doobee. Cathy Hinesley, niece of Mary Ellen Coleman, Lamar top dog (and top doobee), is currently working in the Mayor's office as his secretary. There is money budgeted for this position, recently vacated by Ms. Sparcinio (now wokring at SSA). The salary for this position is $29,000. Mrs. Hinesley will be working part time hours, 3-4 days a week-I wonder if she will be getting the full $29G???? She previously worked at the DW complex answering phones, for about the same salary, I believe. She also worked for State Rep. Shumkus for a while, but left for greener pasteurs...i'd say part time work for full time salary is definately GREENER.
RE: Wouldn't you like to be a doobe, too??? Mary Ellen Coleman contributed substantially to Mayor Doherty's campaign. She may still be a contributor, I don't know. The older posters here should remember back in the summer of 2005 when Joe wanted to put up a billboard about the mayor's budget amount and how much he spent on new hires and raises, and Mary Ellen turned him down, calling it negative publicity. It's somewhere on the old board which I think can still be accessed here.
Wouldn't you like to be a doobe, too??? Yes, Scranton Girl, I remember Coleman telling Joe his ad would be too negative. Nice to be a big ole doobee in power, you get what you want.

Wouldn't you like to be a doobe, too??? My wife just stopped me. Question, does anybody else just want to go out on the porch and scream STOP THE INSANITY. I really do not get it. I hate to say this, maybe it is true, cant beat city hall..
RE: Wouldn't you like to be a doobe, too??? Don't have to beat City Hall, City Hall is beating itself this time around. The walls are starting to crumble around DO and his people, why do you think that he is bailing his worthy people out the front door and letting others stay and take the beatings for him. Hayes is running the show in the house of DO now a days. DO is to busy trying to find new friends to blow smoke up thier #$$es but it doesn't seem like anyone is buying what he is selling. He is afraid that he might have to go back and sell pens and rosary beads for a living. Tick Tock, Tick Tock time is slowly running out for you DO.
RE: Wouldn't you like to be a doobe, too??? love the city hall politics. How many people in city hall are part timers? Is the new principal at west have any ties to the Coleman from billboard comp?
Wouldn't you like to be a doobe, too??? Cooper: Who's the new principal at West? A member of the ICN? Then they are probably related somehow.....

And may I just ask ... what does the new principal at West H.S. have to do with anything in this thread?

I make plenty of spelling errors, but I do try and spell the more difficult words correctly. I highly recommend the free online dictionary. Also, Google make a surprisingly good spell check if you just google the word in question. To not do so would be ignotant (sorry, I couldn't help myself on that one).

Watch yourself now or the next thing you know Granma willhave to ignor you. She can, you know, because she has opions about stuff. She also knows quilty people when she sees them. So don't get her started! :))
OK, Lus, but other than not knowing the definition of the word they are accusing people of, you have to admit it was a brilliant post - in a kind of "I once heard this guy use a big word about something unethical, so I thought I'd use it here" kind of way.
Give a monkey Internet access and dd.com user account and sooner or later the monkey will type something every bit as good as Granma. OK, maybe the monkey would be a better speller, but you get the point.
It is rumoured that at any specialty book store, aaaall the way in the back, they sell books similar to the "for dummy" books. They're called "for frikkin' idiot" books and are very appropriate for the illiterates across the hall. Why on earth do you think Janet is so well-spoken.
