I'm not sure this is true, but I recently heard that several city hall employees, while supose to be working on city hall business, are actually posting on that crazy website. If the city can verify, which i'm positive they can, that in fact those several employees are in fact post while on business time, they should immediately take disciplinary action and continue with progressive punishment for every violation until the posting stops while on business time, or the free loading employees are terminated. Mayor Doherty, you have already shown that you are not afraid to make the employees work for their wages, so now make them work on city business while they are there. No tax paying citizen of the city of Scranton will stand behind a free loading employee................ They will back you, Mayor, for doing what you were elected for, Protecting all the tax paying citizens....

The city needs to block the site from its network browser. Plain and simple. It is perfectly fine for any of them to post on their own time. If they are posting while at work then it is their employers who should monitor their workers activities.
I think we've been down this road before. While I'm certain that there are people on both sides posting from city hall, unless they have a written policy governing posting form the office they can't really do anything about it.
Do they have a policy? Does it pertain to all city property (firehouses, Police HQ, etc.) or just city hall?
There goes the theories again. Thanks Vince for clearing that up. Art knew this already. You cannot post on message boards from city computers. This has been talked about for a year at least. Sorry to disappoint a few once again.
