Just curious as to how you justify the hiring of crony humps by your hero Mayor tax and spend? Brazil isnt qualified to be a hump on a camels back and Hartman is a bigger political whore than Judy Gatelli. So lets hear the justification or is it just another example of restoring ones pride? This should be good.

What makes you think we would justify it? We have said it before and I am saying it again, none of us are on a defend <insert any official's name here> mission. We are however, on a expose Joey for what he really is mission.

They were political hires no different or worse than other political hires that have occured in the past and which will occure in the future. How did you get your job? Just curious!! You come up with a viable way to take politics out of politics and I will be happy you give you a big high 5! Deal?

If these two guys holding office is going to be such a terrible thing why don't you do something about it. March down to city hall tomarrow morning, demand to see the Mayor and ask his reasoning for the appointments. Demand to see qualification if any for these two guys. Go ask for a meeting with Brazil and hartman yourself. And by the way, what exactly makes you an expert at knowing others abilities. A monkey can do their jobs, it doesnt take much to run a small cities dpw or any department for that matter. THAT IS WHY THESE ARE SWWETHEART APPOINTMENTS. When whoever it is you like becomes mayor he or she will appoint who they want. then I will call them unqualified jackasses and make you back them up.

The Mayor is about 0 for 20 in his hiring decisions, so why should this be any different? I like Chris Doherty as a person, but man, some of his personnel decisions have been very, very bad.

Just think though...if Janet Evans were elected mayor (I know...try not to vomit at the thought), would she make our favorite serial-plaintiff DPW Director? Or would his having a criminal record preclude that?

One would think that the criminal record shoud make a difference ... but ... I'll bet she would call it a second chance ...

I have to agree here that each Mayor has appointed who he liked over the years ... now I'm not saying that it's right to hire stricktly on friendship ... or how much money they have given ... how many parties that they have attended ... it's not right ... but all mayors have done this ... tell me Shed which one has not done it?

I do not know if these two men are qualified ... I have not seen the job descriptions in question ... I don't exactly know what the job is that Hartman got ... so I therefore can not say that he is not qualified ...

As far as Brazil being qualified ... is he functioning in the same capacity as George Parker did ... Parker filled more than one role ... He was along with being the Director of the DPW also the city engineer ... due to the fact that he was an engineer ... but I don't think that Mr. Brazil is functioning in the same capacity ... I do believe that he is the Director and that is all ... so I have to agree with Ag .... what is it that you know about this person that says he can not direct the men of the DPW? What qualified past Directors .... or is the fact that he has the last name of Brazil your real problem with this person ... I think the fact that Hartman is an unpopular School Director is your problem with his appointment ... but that is only my opinion ...

Hey bring the job qulifications ... show that you are right about these men being unqualified and I will back you up 100%!!!

They all go on a bitchfest when there is a new appointee - have any of them ever come up with a list of who IS the right man for all of these jobs?

Just like with Janet's budget. She ticked off on her fingers - this is wrong - this is wrong - this is wrong - but not one damned thing about what to do about it or how to correct the situation. Just get rid of the mayor and his crony's. Come on already - who belongs in there? Pilcheski? Lyman? Patilla? Hubbard? Elman? Franus? Stoker? Talamini? Krake? Yeah - fill city hall with that bunch - the city will EMPTY.

Cripes - it reminds me of "The Hills Have Eyes".

Well if Shed shows me the qualifications needed for each position ... and then proves to me that these two men are not qualified then and only then will I back him 100% in the fact that they should not be holding those positions.

Oh good lord. This has been gone over six ways until Sunday, Janet. Please try to pay attention this time.

None of these appointees are interviewing for the job, and council has no say one way or the other in whether they are appointed or not. The resolution is a courtesy only. The five of you could vote NO and the appointments would still go through. It's been done this way for years. Don't forget, it's a strong mayor, weak council form of government. You're all pretty much 1/5 of pretty insignificant. Keep that in mind. You are no more or less important than Gatelli, or Fanucci, or McGoff. I hope that thought gives you an ulcer.

Why do I list these names you ask ... well these are all men who have run the DPW ... who have had the pleasure of being the Director of Public Works ... well Brazil will be ... that's right he will be as Paul has pointed out.

Now Joe Loughney ... well he came up through the ranks ... he was not an engineer

Ed Pisano ... Damn he was a mailman on leave ... he was not an engineer

Rocky Domiano ... another who came up through the ranks ... that's right you guessed it ... NOT AN ENGINEER.

George Parker ... a man who worked as an Engineer for Penn Dot and was politically appointed by Mayor Doherty ... Yes he was an engineer ... and he was more than the Director of Public Works ... he was also the city engineer and why ... who knows ... but that's the way it is ... DumbBlonde/Janut likes to beat dead horses ... she must want to make sure they are dead ... that is what over-educated idiots usually do ... and yes it is my opinion that she is an over-educated idiot.

Now Jeff Brazil ... ran the Parks Dept. for a bit ... I don't think that qualifies as coming up through the ranks ... but oh well it doesn't alway work out that way ... is he an engineer ... I don't really know ... I have not asked him ... but my thinking is this ... he does not need to be one and why ... because it is not a requirement of the position of the Director of Public Works ...

Here's an ad for an engineering position with Clough Harbour. Parker took a job with them, but is it this job as advertised? The qualifications are quite significant, and if Parker needed those qualifications for his new job, what should we be looking at as Brazil's qualifications to run a city? Don't tell me we're going to hire another consultant just so that Brazil can do his job. Maybe an engineer at Clough Harbour will be hired as the consultant. Would anything surprise you?
