Ok so finally someone has brought up the cost of the Dog Park ... it was a puzzle to me as to why nobody was opposed to this (not really as it was a request of Fay Franus) ... with a price tag of $300,000 ... we heard all the bitching in the world about this tree house which had many donations of funds in order to build it ... but where are the donations for this Dog Park? Are there any? Or is this a project that is strictly on the taxpayers? I think that $300,000 is totally obsurd ... and I an not against a fenced off area with a few benches ... so that dogs can run freely ... but I can not fathom that we would bitch about a treehouse for the handicapped yet not make a mention of a Dog Park ... I am glad that the taxpayers association is questioning this ... as they seem to be experts on contracts for the police and fire depts. ... this is something that they should actually be looking into ... Thank you Marie Shumakcer (sp?) for bringing this up!

::: ... The half-truth telling{and believe me, I'm being kind with that term!} Times Tribune is no longer the only game in town, and that is hard for some people to swallow ... ::::

The very same half-truth nonsense could be said for the drivel posted across the hall. Half-truths and "opions" - and they swear by it !

Oh yeah they are putting a damper on the sales of the TT ... what oversized egos they have ... I for one do not subscribe ... I do however buy the paper ... so I think that there are many people like me that don't want to sit and wait for it to be delivered ... they go out and purchase it. These people look at the subscriptions ... but do they ever look at the total readership ... and yes I am counting hits to the website ... do they really think that the times is not getting any money each time they hit that website ... well I would have to say that they are wrong ... each hit probably garners them more money than the sale of a paper. That's why you see advertisers on each and every page. I know that they can't be that stupid.

Jimbu sorry for the long delay in responding. It'sbeen a big week with lots of family stuff. I only had a few moments here and there to read or comment.

Tell yourself all you want, to anybody who will listen, believe all you want that Mr. P, and his forum hasn't made any local impact, I for one, will respectfully disagree with you everytime!
Oh I agree he has had an impact not a very large one: evidenced by never getting anyone he wants elected, nor knocking anyone out that he wants gone. It was Belardi's election to win/lose.The pay raise and his ensuing arrogance over the pay raise is what cost him that election. Doherty won despite a strong opponent and Joey's best effort to knock him off. Cordaro was knocked off the ballot but not out of the race (and he handed that victory to Joey by being sloppy on his paperwork. Anyone could have challenged that and they would have also won).. Nor a positive impact: evidenced by Missy Jan's down-right flat-out denial of any involvement in DD's goon squad or knowing Joey personally. I have said it before, if that place and Joey were a good thing, not only would she proudly proclaim her involvement, but she very likely would move in the P's house to show her solidarity. They are a negative.... and she knows it!! If you want to know how the political winds are blowing just watch the Princess. She always has her finger wet and in the wind, monitoring the local wind shifts, so she can pretend she really cares about what you care about, Ya!! she really is that good as a politician (that was not a compliment BTW).

I also find it strange you and others, keep bringing up the amount of lawsuits, and he lost this one, this one got dismissed, but y'all fail to mention probably THE most important one, you know, the one where the PSP and others tried to have his web-site shut down. Y'all remember don't ya?
Indeed I do remember the event I, however, remember the whole event, and all the details, and if I am not incorrect, it is still being litigated currently. Is it not? However on its merits, let me remind you that the new technology the internet (and other new media formats) brings to the table has run ahead of laws and regulations. The law is constantly playing catch up as these things are coming fast and furious, simply because there is no law saying something is wrong, doesnt necessarily mean then it is right. I will give you two examples:1. Al Gore got himself into some hot water for constantly stating there is no compelling authority or some such nonsense about his campaign contributions from a bunch of monks. The public was not amused. 2. A case, I believe in Florida, showing that the law had not kept up with the changing media formats. A couple rented a house from a gentleman (and I use that term loosely) who, unknown to them, had installed closed circuit cameras in the house. He took hours of videos of (primarily of the women) the couple without their knowledge or consent. They found out, called the police, and surprise surprise since there was no law at the time on the books, that person was not able to be charged with any crime. He walked free and clear. I know they tried to sue him personally, how that turned out I am unsure. Point is though, as it pertains to internet chat areas, what constitutes "free speech" and what crosses over to slander, libel, or invasion of personal privacy has yet to be fully litigated, when it is, how people like Joey will fare will be then be determined. Lest you have forgotten why a temporary injunction was put on the web site let me remind you. Unless I am remembering wrong, the bulk of the complaint stemmed from comments posted about a young lady's alleged personal medical history and records. It was disgusting, cruel, and in my opinion, vile beyond words. Jimbu, surely you do not condone the posts about that horrible business do you?

and also think that you are very naive to think that Mr. P hasn't opened some eyes, and changed some peoples attitudes along the way.
Oh no I believe he did. he opened my eyes and changed my attitude; I never had any idea so much vileness was running through my community. He made it a moral obligation on my part to work against him and the hatred he is spewing

I hope your weekend was nice despite having to work, also I hope you had a nice 4th. I look forward to chatting with you again in the future.

Ihave...I don't know how Joe normally acts, and with all due respect you don't either. You only conclude from what you read.

True! I have based my conclusions on what I have read that he wrote himself. So since he has claimed he doesn't take no for answer, either he doesn't take no for an answer or he is telling tall tales. You say he doesn't tell tales and is a straight shooter (figurativly speaking of course) so I must conclude he doesn't take no for an answer yet it seems by his story he did. Help me to understand... did he or did he not take no for an answer? If he did... why did take no for an answer? Why would he take no for this issue, and not for any other one?

Ihave, I do have a question for you, you say you just made a call, and had a ramp installed? You didn't have to go anywhere to file for a permit or anything? I find that hard to believe,

Well, I can understand based on your personal experiences why it might be hard for you to believe, but that is what happened. We called no one about a permit. Did the company who installed it call? I have no idea, it was never discussed. I really can't say yes or no. I honestly don't know. We were, as you can imagine at the time, totally destroyed emotionally about what had happened and frankly, as I said before, it never crossed our minds. I never gave it a thought ever, until this business with DD made a similar event an issue.

Again, IMO, replacing 2 steps hardly qualifies as major construction, and should not need a permit, or a ball-busting from the City, just my opinion though.

I agree!

Anyway, thanks for listening...Jimbu15.

Always a pleasure:)

If the Times' website is like every other website they are making money from clicks. Maybe not as much as they would from the sale of the paper, but no paper or ink to buy.
