This question has occured to me periodically and now I am going to ask it. Any of the DD goon squad feel free to jump in with a answer.
If it sucks so bad to work for the city, if it sucks so bad to work for the pay, if it sucks so bad because of the lack of benefits, why exactly do people practically knife each other for these jobs? Why not find work elsewhere?

Although I'm not a member of the DD goon squad, I'll jump in with my own answers to the questions posed...
Question #1 - Remember the Narc Squad that worked bankers hours? Remember the Police Chief who was BOTH labor (as a member of the FOP) and management (as chief of police)? Ever wonder why city employees are able to post on DD during working hours? There you go...three examples of why city jobs are so popular.

I got banned for asking that question over there. The answer, apparently, is something about not having to quit a job to appease a city and it's taxpayers. I never quite understood it, but was banned before I ever received a legitimate answer.
Bingo Agam!! They are unbelievable. I guess they won't be happy unless they are making a six figure paycheck, only work 30 hours a week, and get 150% of their last year of work as a pension. Oh ya I forgot fully paid healthcare. Hey np doesn't everyone have that kind of job? NO? weird!!
