We all sit at our computer, confident our opinion is the right one, with no one to see us and comment on our demeanor, clothing, figure or style. Then we bitch about these qualities in those who have the guts to stand up and say "This is what I think," in public, exposed to the world.

Pay to play, Fay speaks from the heart and tries her best. She also has a child who reads this board and she did not deserve what went beyond criticism. If you have a problem with her, approach her and give her advice. She'll take it because she wants to be a better speaker and truly has the city's interests at heart.

"Went beyond criticism?" So, since Fay 'Foam@the Mouth' Franus has a child that reads DD she should be beyond personal criticism? What about all the personal attacks leveled by her DD alter-ego 'aquamg' towards various individuals? As I recall, Chris Doherty, Judy Gatelli, Sherry Nealon-Fanucci ALL HAVE CHILDREN as well. Funny, "Foam'n Fay" never seems to give a rat's a$$ what the children of those individuals may read on-line about their parents. Nobody is either a TOTAL F-ING MORON or AN IDIOT WITHOUT A MEMORY.

If Fay wants to play in this arena (and is SO STUPID as to out herself at DD, which she actually did before Pilchesky took the posting down), then she should be prepared to take it as hard as she gives it.

Well not that it's ever easy to read anything bad about your mother ... but can you imagine being a "child" and reading something bad ... oh say ... like Sherry Fanucci's child ... who not only has to read terrible things about her mother ... but also went through a period where DD knew her (this child's) every move ... and spoke badly of her ... now here we have Fay Franus' daughter reading the DD site seeing things written about her mother ... but I would venture a guess that it was nothing like what has been said about Sherry and her daughter (a child) ... and NOBODY is upset about it ... Judy will be named Chief nurse very shortly she has the required support of the majority of the board and has been telling friends that it was Mayor Doherty who has made it happen for her. I never cease to be amazed at the lengths people will go...in terms of sacrificing logic, reasoning, sanity...just to "belong".

On another note, I love the Hitler analogies, as if the SS...a military group well known for it's exceptionally harsh treatment of civilians during a period of war...could really be compared to a bunch of local hack politicians. A bit of an over-reach, if you ask me.

Ok why do I think this qualifies for this thread ... Latino's who have the right to vote would not be able to be forced to leave ... if they can vote they are not ... I repeat are not illegal ... they are citizens. I somehow think that this poster did not go out into the Latino community and speak with anyone.

Had It doesn't specifically say where or who he was talking to, just a generalization of South Side and Latino.

If he was speaking to these individuals at the polls, all well and good; but he may have been speaking to someone working, cleaning :::coughcoughhidingcoughcough::: under a porch for all we know.

Again, if they came here through legal channels, they've got no worries, right? no matter WHO gets elected.

Maybe DD poster 'NOTADOBEENEVERWILLBE' attended the First Night in Scranton, Iowa because the one I've attended in Scranton, Pennsylvania has been fairly well attended. Oh, that's right, he/she/it saw a television shot of one venue with no one there (there are several venues throughout the event) and therefore thinks that the whole event was empty. What a tool...and today's DD Idiot.

Not a lot of people know it, but it was Joe who made some kind of a legal move on the SHA and the City when they were scheming with one another to tear down the Washington Plaza over the fire wall crap.He stopped them dead in their tracks. I don't know where it sits now but the Plaza is still there.

I wonder what the status of that is now. They were supposed to fix them with new kitchens and better firewalls and bring the original tenants back.

  • While I normally have no respect for Dan Hubbard, I did when he confirmed that Mr Davis had passed away and asked that the thread not be used to bash anyone. The real story is what Joe P has done. Corruption comes and goes, you can find it from coast to coast. But can you find another city where the actions of one man with a keyboard has provided hope for the citizens, and created caution in the public officials?

Big turnout in support of FOP at Tripp's Park Comm. Center.

The FOP held a very successful fundraiser at the Tripp's Park Comm. Center last night. Those interested in showing their support for our men and women in blue benefitted from a good time that included a lot of great food and good music.

No shows:  Gatelli, Fanucci, Charles, Doherty, Moyle, Barrett, Fox and Dougher.

And they would go to a place they are unwelcome ....why???

Showing support: Evans, Rogan, Joyce and DiBileo, Grippo and Talerico from the DA's office, as well as the candidate for judge from the DA's office, Costello (sp?)

So basically all the union shills and political panderers?  Wow who could have forseen that......henya???

20 various baskets of cheer were raffled off, as well as a wheelbarrow full of selective beverages donated by Lowe's. Tim Mayo, recently reinstated after beating the administration, was in attendance with other officers who were equally wronged and/or mistreated and were also successful in arbitration hearings. 

So basically anyone who is disgruntled and whining right?

None of the known Doherty moles and suckups like Arbie, Condron or Crofton were there.  

See above :)
Some of these people need to wake up.  People support Firefighters but at this point have very little love or patience left for their union leadership.  They feel the same way about the Police union.

The most important issue in the election is ridding organized crime from local government. Vitale-Flynn got her mortage from First National Community Bank.

The suspended chairman of the board, Louis Denaples, is suspected of having ties to organized crime and has been indicted for denying a relationship with a reputed crime boss.

Another FNCB director, Judge Michael Conahan, has allegedly met with the crime boss to fix cases twice a month and he has also pleaded guilty to taking kickbacks.

Denaples alleged ties to organized crime figures have been reported since the 1970's, which makes you wonder who's side she is on. The side of casefixing, kickback taking judges and organized crime figures or the people's side.

People should stand up to case-fixing judges and organized crime in the next election and rid Scranton government of public corruption. We never may another chance like this for a long time. The FEDs are risking having contracts taken out on their lives and their families', voters should help also at least through the secret ballot.

My god...'McGoof' is a FLAMING IDIOT!!

Maybe...just maybe...Judy Gatelli involved in setting up her high school reunion because...drum roll please...it's her high school reunion!

Oh, and when last I checked, Judy is allowed to do somethings on her own time...you know, like help to organize high school reunions.  I wonder if 'McGoof' is on the same 24/7/365 company clock that he/she holds Judy to?

Now we all know Scranton City Council Woman Judy Gatelli does not do much with out expecting some thing in return. Judy was the President of South Side Neighborhood association only to get name recognition to run for City Council.

First of all, last I checked Judy was involved with the SSNeighborhood Association for at least 25 years before deciding to run for coucil....Next I reallly don't think, you get paid to organize your class reunion....NOW come one are these people for real

They want to be recognized as an official news site?  Last time I checked USA Today didn't have "Wanted Everything on" topic accompanied with a disclaimer not to stalk this person as the first article someone can view.

Openlackawanna.org is looking for volunteers and donations for it's effort to put local campaign finance records online according to it's website. They are looking for people with programming, database and web design skills.

Chris Doherty's campaign finance records have not been updated on the site since his 2006 report and there is gaps in his prior year reports also. There is also nothing in the records about financing about his council race either.

Twenty-five dollars may be enough to put a year of campaign finance records online for Doherty and other candidates may be much less. Openlackawanna has to pay a per page fee to get the records sometimes, but ten or twenty dollars goes a long way. People should contact openlackawanna and see if they can donate to get a particular candidates finance records online and about the costs also. The election is right around the corner and with the pay to play politicing going on around the country and the state, these records should be online now.




Why is he an idiot?  Well if you click on the link and review the reports...bearing in mind Lacka Wiseguy's comment, what you won't see is a report all for Gary DiBileo.  So this idiot is complaining that Doherty's report isn't up to date, but yet there is no report for Gary.

To make matters worse for this idiot, the past report listed on the site for Janet Evans is dated from the year 2003.

Like most DD posters, consistency isn't this guy's strong point.
