Stick a fork in it...Joe's time as a "Community Activist" is DONE. I DEFY ANYONE to claim that Pilchesky is anything but a bully after he makes statements like:

"If that fat, crony, two-faced, corrupt, Hitler, blowjobbitch"

Even those people who may defend him have to read crap like that and think that he's over. The amazing part here is that Pilchesky is really pissed off because Gatelli's attorney actually out-foxed him. He thought he was going to turn this into some kind of on-line bashing party with his incredibly stupid Q&A list, but low and behold, it doesn't look like that's going to be possible. As for the agreement being "bizzare", that's a case of the pot calling the kettle black, as what do you call 80% of the questions asked in Pilchesky's original document?

Lus & Ag - excellent posts.

JOey believes he lives in a world where anything he says or posts or that the JOey LAnD BoTTom FeeDeRs post about a public official (or anyone connected to them either through family or work) is alright, especially if you say 'in my humble opinion or politically speaking.

I work in a world where everything we do is done via confidentiality agreements, so Judy's lawyer ensuring that the responses don't end up on JOey LAnD as BoTTom FeeDeR material is not unreasonable.

I really enjoy the part where if one of the plaintiffs wants the information they'll have to review themselves to the court. This is why Anti, NADB, BoPeep and many of the other BoTTom FeeDeRs are nervous because people will realize what DOlts these folks actually are - sitting behind a keyboard and bashing anybody, because they believe its their right and they're anonymous.

Some political site you got going there JOey - more like the Perez Hilton for BoTTom FeeDeRs.

The mayor has apparently succeeded in following Bush's lead with accessing uncontrolled authority. With his plan in place, there is nothing left for the unions to negotiate, and so what is the incentive for any person to want to work for this city's public safety department? Doherty, under this decision, had obtained complete control over employees, so here today, gone tomorrow.

One can only hold out hope that the Supreme Count could find that the distressed city act mandates other cost cutting measures, like reduced administration spending.

W & O cannot walk in lockstep with Doherty. The county's debt went from 86 million to 200 million. The city's debt is larger than that, and Doherty wants us to bear the burden of a debt larger than a county?

Doherty and Rendell are very close. With Rendell now under investigation, I hope that closeness comes back to haunt Doherty.

The area where the library is being proposed is the area that has already received maybe 35 million for the Cedar Ave/Latino Community project. Why don't they use some of that money?

Also it seems like Doherty believes that south side can pull him through any election; look at the project money and proposals that have happened since he took office and you'll see the money poured in that direction.

W & O should realize that the anti Doherty and anti Taxation without Representation factions will stand behind them if they stand up to Doherty. It could help turn public opinion around in favor of the commissioners.

And you know what Stacy? You do a great disservice to people. The only way I can understand the how and why you do this is to assume that soon you will be moving out of the area, because you really don't care. You are actually very anti-social and I don't mean in terms of not being the life of the party.

You can't put a price on exposing corruption. It's value is priceless in more ways than I can enumerate. Politicians fear the name Pilchesky. They're all worried about who might show up next under the DD microscope. Covington needs a good cleansing and that's what it's getting. It's long overdue. They deserve it for letting an idiot like Tom Yerke to have his way all the time. Hang em' all, one by one and let the people see it.

A newspaper like that is sorely needed. Just think if every article printed by the Times was rebutted in a newpaper like that, what that would mean to Politicians who run for reasons other that public service.

Between the information posted here and the information printed in a perper like that, we sure would make them all aware that they are held accountable for every action they take a Representative of the people of this city, county and state.

I would subscribe in a heartbeat. I'll tell my personal opintion. There is nothing in this world as valuable as the printed word.

I liked Augusto Pinochet. He took over in a climate not unlike Venezuela today. Turned Chile into the most prosperous and democratic country in S. A.it is the jewel of South America today and the envy of the world. When democracy wassecureand the condition of the peoples living standards where the envy of S.A. he turned over power to elected official. Of course he used heavy handed means at first. Augusto Pinochet - a really good guy, just misunderstood by the people he captured, tortured and killed (thousands). Just misunderstood because he couldn't understand why parents would grieve over their lost children. Just misunderstood because after he tortured and murdered their parents, gave the orphaned children to those who would ensure the dictator would stay in power.

All because the United States got scared of the communists and socialists in Chile, they assisted in the undermining of their government at the time and looked the other way when the military took over. We trained their military officers in torture techniques and supplied intelligence.

Misunderstood because he nationalized many of the countries industries and utilities, not for the sake of the country, but to be able to fund his own dictatorship.

All because we were afraid of the big bad communists getting a foothold in SA.

So sarge perhaps you need to re-evaluate your heros and role models.

I wonder if it has occured to Sarge that maybe all they do is color and watch puppet shows BECAUSE LITTLE CHILDREN LIKE to color and watch puppet shows! Just a thought on my part, but I'll put it out there for consideration.

Perhaps Sarge would feel better if instead of coloring and watching puppet shows the little children spent their time surfing the web for porn or researching city budgets (two things no doubt a few adult DD posters have done while at the "adult" library).

Studies have proven that the main supply of gang members come from fatherless boys. Growing up without the nurturing of a father leads to looking for a pseudo family, usually the gang. It also has a tendency for them to have a sociopathic mentality. Check the history of inmates of any color.

Did Randall have a loving nurturing father.(AREYOU SAYING THAT NOT HAVING A NURTURING FATHERIS A REASON TO KILL? ARE YOU ON CRACK?)

How much suffering did the 23 abandoned children of this father have because heabandon them as if they were so much garbage. It maybe hard to believe but its very difficult to come to grips with thefact your own father does not think you are valuable enough to be loved.(Understandably this must be truly horrific ... but what does this have to dowith the MURDERS? The young man who you assume had a father who did not love him was a victim of this crime ... not the one who committed it!)How are you to come to love and respect others when your father indicates you are disposable and not lovable.(And just who is it that is claiming this life as a disposable life ... I saw a visibly upset man on the news at that murder scene ... I don't think that he made the statement that he felt his son was disposable or unloved ... did I miss him saying that!)

What tragedies did this mans 23 abandoned children perpetrate on innocent people, we will never know.
(You are assuming that they are perpetrating crimes on innocent people ... what the hell is wrong with you and how do these children come into play ... these children that you know nothing about ... Do you know how sick the assumption that you are making really is.)

(I am not sure here but I don't think that this man is asking anything from any of us ... but what the hell is wrong with feeling compassion for a fellow human being who has suffered a great loss ... because even if he abandoned his other children and I'm not saying he was right to do that ... he did not abandon this particular child ... granted this man is wrong for fathering so many children ... but neither he nor his child/children are the ones who committed this heinous act!!)He in theory destroyed the lives of 23 people. I'm sorry I have real sorrow and my prayers arefor his children but none for this animal.(You do not know anything about these 23 children ... did you ever stop to think that maybe they do have loving fathers ... just because someone is a sperm donor dose not mean that they are a father ... oh sure the DNA would suggest that he is in fact the father of these children ... but maybe they have a loving step-father ... in one paragraph you accuse the children of being a threat to society ... and now you have sorrow for them ... I think not and you sir not only are an idiot ... but a hypocrite ...)
Glenn I know you started this thread and that it evolved into something that I don't think you meant to happen ... because that's what happens at DD ... but I know and you know that this man did not commit this crime nor did his son ... but right now because of the man who did commit the crime another child is left without a father ... and neither one of these two people (father/child) had a choice in the matter.

Let us put the blame where it lies ... on the individual who bludgeoned and stabbed the 3 young men in a fit of rage and jealousy ... not drugs ... not gang related ... but jealousy ... and the man with 24 children had absolutely nothing to do with the crime ... It cannot be blamed on Mayor Doherty or the Council 3 ... say a prayer for the victims ... and those who are left behind to deal with reality of it all ... the mother and father who lost 2 sons that day... it is totally tragic ... My heart goes out to them all!

It's also a proven fact that I, along with my three brothers, were raised by a single mother, and for the record, the only "threat to the tranquility of society" that I represent is when I blare selections from my "Best of Squeeze" CD while driving to work in the morning. Nothing like jamming to "Pulling Muscles from a Shell" at 6:45am.

This guy is a low-grade moron, plain and simple. I'd be insulted by his comment, but that would imply that I actually take what he says seriously.

Most of the DD posters don't want spending cut...they want spending reallocated. Specifically, they want more money spent on city employee salaries, benefits and numbers. In the real world...unlike the world that, say Janet Evans seems to live in...you can't cut spending while spending more. Yes, the crying response is "But...but...but...DOherty gave all his cronies raises..." and that would be true, but there are far fewer "cronies" than there are police, firemen, clerical workers, DPW staff, etc.

There is no free lunch, despite what Janet Evans may drone on and on about.

The Scranton "Political" Times hadfive stories over the weekend claiming that Boscov's could file for bankruptcy on Monday August 4. We were right !!!



Hmmmmmmm......so cutting and pasting OTHER PEOPLE's stories about something makes DD right? If that's the case, can I get credit for the "scoop" that Olympics are about to be held in China????

Ahhhh ... but they were not right as they said that Bocov's in the Steamtown Mall would close ... and well that store is not one of the stores that is closing ... so were they right ... I think NOT!

I guess "Newsman" is taking over from "NADB" in the C&P department. Do they actually think that pasting someone else's copyrighted mateiral somehow makes DD a "news" site? I love this self-delusion that goes on in Pilchesky's world every day...

...filing countless lawsuits against the city doesn't actually cost the city money
...Judy Gatelli's family having public sector jobs is bad, but Janet Evan's family doing the same isn't
...some clown in Covington Township abuses his position as a supervisor and he is presumed guilty, but Joanne Pilchesky is accused of stealing from the estate of her dying father and she is presumed innocent (still wondering why those checks were written out to BOTH Joanne Pilchesky and Joanne Ricci)
...it's ok to accuse the Mayor of being the cause of a suicide (posted at Christmas time no less), but don't ever accuse Janet Evans of using a School Board position to get herself a teaching job, as that would be considered in bad taste

...and I could go on. Most (I'd say about 90%) of the DD posters actually don't think about what they are writing...for them, it's just an exercise in GroupThink; throw in a few fat comments, a kneepad reference or two, use that createive "DOherty" thing, maybe reference "Gibby Joe" and you instantly fit in.

You know what you get if you have a country full of people like Joe's followers? You get Germany, circa January 30, 1933. Yeah, I know, that's an extreme reference, and I am not trying to equate filing countless stupid lawsuits with genocide, but the underlying concept of "following the group and no dissention allowed" holds true in both places. Here I can call Janet Evans a "classic pandering politician" AND Chris Doherty the "worst judge of talent in the world" and it's ok. Try doing that at DD.
