How blatently disgusting are they at DD???

Just how blatantly disgusting are they at DD? I guess they are now the only ones that are allowed to write letters to the editor ... or have any sort of opinion in this town.

If their concerns about the tree-house are legit then I give them credit for bringing it to light ... but here is the question ... where is the proof? Come on you have to put it out there if you have it ... but what gets to me is that a gentleman wrote to the Times/Tribune talking about how wonderful the tree-house is ... and well read the posts and you will see the response to this mans opinion. Not Good!

Great investment

Editor: The David Wenzel Treehouse is now completed and was officially dedicated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday. As a person with a disability who lives in Scranton, I am very grateful for the efforts of the numerous people involved in bringing this project to fruition.

I must especially applaud Mayor Chris Doherty as the person with the original vision for this endeavor, and the one who helped facilitate the timely completion of the project. Because of his genuine passion and relentless desire to complete this one-of-a-kind project, many businesses, organizations and individuals stepped up and made large monetary and non-monetary contributions.

The result is phenomenal and the view overlooking the gorge is breathtaking.

In the larger view, not only do we have another attraction in Nay Aug Park, we have an attraction that is universally accessible. Interestingly, on a trip there on Saturday, I noticed that out of about 40 people who were visiting the treehouse, five or six were physically disabled. So this truly is an attraction for everyone.

And, like any improvements made within the city, its an investment in the long-term economic development of the city of Scranton. As the mayor said, it shows that people are willing to invest their time, efforts and money in our city.

The treehouse is also appropriately named for a fine and inspiring individual, former Mayor David Wenzel.

As a disabled person and an advocate of universal access, I would remind everyone that disability issues are about access and respect for everyone, no matter what their level of ability. I would also urge everyone to see this attraction, and enjoy the result of the efforts of everyone that made this happen.

Now as we all can see this gentleman is Board President for the Northeast PA Center for Independent Living ... the city has done something so the Handicapped individuals can also enjoy the view of the Gorge ... it is beautiful up there and prior to the tree-house there were many who were not able to enjoy it and well now they can. This gentleman is happy for these individuals who the tree-house was truly meant for.

Now we have the people at DD ... this man had the gall to say thank you ... so the smear campaign shall begin ... it starts with a PM to Joe or Joanne and usually spirals from there. It should prove interesting to see what they will soon write about this man ...

Here's a some of the pictures I took tonight. After the meeting was adjourned, council members went back to Kay Garvey's office and met, but McGoff left early. Gatelli and Fanucci had the police escort them out of the building, walking them out of the city council office and into the elevator. When I attempted to get a picture of Fanucci in the elevator with Lt. Crofton, she ducked behind the elevator door.

In rebuttal of Stacy Brown's article from Friday, June 1st. It makes no difference as to what the reasons are for the lack of quality and factual content, the fact remains that either Brown is responsible for the defects, or he allows his editors to degrade his product.

There were numerous witnesses at the council meeting who saw and heard Newcomb, Sr. yell out to Petilla. (Brown states an unidentified person yelled out)
Brown states the man and Petilla had to be separated. (How did Brown know that, if he wasn't able to identify the unidentified person?)
Brown states that Gatelli was in tears being escorted to her car. (Check out the picture below of Gatelli)
Brown states that McGoff was visibly angry. (Check out the picture below of McGoff)

They carry on for a while about Judy walking with Bill Jackowitcz (sp) ... so now he must be someone not to be trusted ... could it be that he had a question for her???

And how the hell do we know when these pictures were taken? Why did you not stick around and get pictures of the scuffle for Sam ... that's what is making me think that they are not from that night at all ... hmmmm what do all of you think?????

She needs to take a class or two in photography. Those pictures are worthless and boring. They show nothing. If I gave a monkey a point and shoot camera and sent him to a council meeting he'd come back with the same photos. Left to right, top to bottom let's review the pictures. -someone speaking at a council meeting, can-t tell who they are, the photo is from behind. -same person speaking, just a little closer -picture of a column with a guy waiting for the elevator in the background. -photo of three cops on the steps in city hall. -photo of a bunch of people in the hallway outside council chambers -photo of a guys back - maybe Bob Bolus - a few cops in the background -photo of a wall, a cop and a lady walking into or toward an office. -picture of Sherry Fanucci walking down the steps at city hall -picture of a hand, a railing, an arm and a few people getting on an elevator in the background -photo of 3 cops and what may be a cops arm walking down the steps -repeat of the column and guy at elevator photo -Judy Gatelli walking down the steps with some guy -Judy Gatelli talking to the same guy Well I'm no Ansel Adams, but what exactly are those photos supposed to prove? She's just showing off the anniversary gift from the old man (it's the gift that keeps her working). It's better than the blender he gave her last year and the vacuum the year before that. Next year he is planning to give her a years worth of free car washes, so she doesn't have to sweat so much when she waxes the vette. __________________ Stupid people piss me off !

I just think that it's pretty disgusting that she (Joanne) knows where they went after the meeting ... and how long Mr. McGoff stayed ... and they don't think that Judy and Sherry should be afraid of them ... are you kidding me.
