The church would be much better off without that "order". Just ask any priest.They've been kicked out of three countrys in the past. Great University, but they should pay their fair share. That's my only gripe.

they usually get around 9000 applicants for each incoming freshman year. They accept 1000 roughly. They have a 97% + placement rate in Med School. Fulbright Scholars, ect.... Still to this day the majority of the students are local. ROTC programe is top notch.

Basically if your grades are there and you take out the loans you can get in. Remember, it is a private University. It has standards such as grades, SATS, community service and so on. I knew guys and gals who I went to school with there that were far from wealthy and did not come from prominant families.

Those guys and gals are now on the track to become wealthy and make a prominant name for themselves. I see the trend from the DD crowed whereasthey think everything was handed to those they hate. NOTHING IS HANDED TO YOU>ANti and all his irish hatespeech and Joe with is disdain towrds the Jesuits. It is jealosy or ignorance or both.

ASk any priest. There are over 250 orders in the Catholic Church that Preiests or Nuns take part in. . The Jesuits are one of if not THE most highly regarded and revered. ASK ANY PRIEST!

If your only grip with University is paying their fair share then we can agree. I would like to see all the non-profits help out more. As a city it is natural that we attract the non-profits. We are centrally located and the non-profits offer services that many need and use it just makes sense to have them

in a city where most people are located. However by that same token ciities end up losing a higher % of their for-profit or residential land in the process than the surrounding area. I think a balance could be reached if we were to seperate out the true non-profit operations ( school courses, and building which house classrooms) from the operations that are for profit. (Book store, housing and so forth @ the university) and seprate in a similar way the other non-profits we have in the city.

As to the Jesuits, no I do not agree that the Church needs to get rid of them. The biggest grip about them is that because of their interest in education and learning, due to theirhigh level of intelligence, they sometimes go off on a tangent that the Church doesn't approve of or agree with, which is their right. As to them being thrown out of countries I would love to know which countries and what those countrie's attitude is toward Christians in general and Catholics in particular.

Ihave, totally agree on the non-profit issue. very well put. Tim? Silas? Only ask the priests who trust you. And they will only whisper the answer. The Jesuits are the La Costa Nostra of the Catholic Church. Infiltrating governments, land grabbing and the money people. Very Christian, wouldn't you say?

Charles III of Spain banned all Jesuits from Spanish lands in the Americas in 1767 because of his distrust of the Jesuits. From this time on, San Xavier mission was led by the more pliable and "reliable" Franciscans.

Most of the modern day Jesuits comes from those three countries. Ignatius Loyola was From Spain.Many come from Mexico and france as well. You do not know anything about the Society of Jesus. It is far from a cult. They are highly intelligent men who dedicate their lives to education and missionary work. You just don't like them because you know nothing about them and JOe tells you to not like them..
