Paul I do have to agree with you 100% on this ... How DARE you all (lump ... lump ... lump) compare Doherty or anyone in the administration to what when on in Natzi Germany ... Doherty is not Hitler like and neither is Judy Gatelli ... have you seen what was caused by the Natzi's under the guidance of Adolf Hitler? I'm guessing that you have no clue! If you read history and see the actions of these awful people when they started out, they started popular policies, worked to provide what the "people" saw as progress, manipulated the media (and later took it over) to control it, threatened the opposition with their income, posessions and lives and cleansed everything within government that did not concur with their "vision". Obvilously I'm not comparing actions of Doherty to what atrocities those devils did, just pointing out the similarities of the thought process they have/had.
I'm convinced if a scumbag like Doherty had his way, unchecked, he'd be a cold and dangerous man. The first thing he did was have us hire a public relations firm to "drive the story". He "cleansed" every prior administration person/company/organization out of city hall, threatened numerous people of opposition with their jobs and if he could have, he would have completely dismantled every department within the city only to replace them with people of similar mindset.The Hitlers, Pots, Amins of the world started out small. Their only desire was the quest for power. Sound familiar?

I do not think and it is only my opinion that someone asking you a question concerning your postings is a childish act ... I am the one who takes these comparisons very seriously I do not think that anyone should be making this particular comparison ... you have not been taken from your home and thrown in a death camp ... Chris Doherty will not be leading any of you to a Gas Chamber ... he will not be performing any type of medical experiments on anyone ... he's not going to yank out your teeth after torturing you to sell them for the gold fillings .... so when you make this comparison ... Let's compare Doherty to this leader. He jailed his enemies, suspended habeas corpus so you cound not have your sentence reviewed.. And instead of a jury by peers you went before a military tribunal. Is Doherty like this leader?

The problem with the petition is that it requires an email address and assumes internet acess. There are many people who both want the paper and are willing to sign the petition online but either don't have the internet, or have access (such as the public library) but don't have an email address.

Any way around the email address/internet access problem? Can people sign a sheet somewhere (or send their name and address via US mail?)?

I find it problematic and discouraging that only 20 or so people signed the online petition when over 100 viewed this post. This says to me either 1.) More ICNers read this message board than people who are against Doherty or 2.) People are afraid, for a variety of reasons, to give out their name and email address or 3.) people don't want a new paper in town. I'm inclined to say the answer is 2, although many ICNers do read this message board.

Can you assure everyone of the integrity of the petition? Can you assure everyone that the names and email addresses won't be used by the ICN to retaliate?

This is going to be a great gauge as to how many actual posters there are. 20 so far. I will wager that the total will hit somewhere around 50. That will be with a few fake names as well. Also, what makes them think that a businessman will asy Hey, you got some signatures that promise me a subscription. Now I must cater to you as my reader base and if I write something you don't like I risk failing on my investment.

Yah right. I thought Joe was making a newspaper. And what about Joe Talamini's paper. Scranton At Large. I give that guy some credit for at least trying. But I find some issues when there is a paper with only one writer. Kinds of slanted dont ya think?

Where I live the news press is very rebulican slanted. It is hard to read it without getting a little mad. It is also the only paper in town. There are 600,000 people in the area as well. So in scranton having one paper is not that odd. Quit bitching you whiny babies.
