Me too - if I saw the same Sam Patilla coming at me that I saw last night at the council meeting, I would feel threatened. Even on a regular day the guy's got that bi-polar, crack addict look to him. I happened to see him in a grocery store a few weeks ago and he made eye contact with me and said hello as if I was supposed to recognize him. Dred locks and a toothless grin -- my kinda man -- eewww -- he gave me the creeps. Needless to say, I'll never shop THERE again.

Jim Davis is the same way. (Actually they ALL are). They all walk around this city as if they are local celebrities and people are supposed to fawn over them. I saw a man who I believed to be Jim Davis on Spruce Street last week and he acted the same way. Had his little jazzy chair on overdrive while on the lookout for a fresh set of ears.

His postings still hold the rantings of a racist pig so there was no reason to re-post it. My point is that now he is including threatening avatars. Is it me or is it a picture of a black dred-locked man pointing a gun in what seems to be a grocery store or pharmacy? Now, if Jim is soooo adamant about the plight of the"white man" bringing down the "black man", why is he (as a god-fearing black man) using a picture like that? Doesn't it just disprove hispoint - that they are bringing themselves down?

Am I mistaken, or is this the guy who is a born-again something or other ... and Allah or Jehova or Mohammed (or whoever the hell) is the be-all and end-all of everything he does ... and doesn't he pull that sallam bull$hit every time he approaches the podium. He quotes Karl Marx like the communist he is - was Marx a religious man too? Maybe in Jim's eyes.

For a religious man, he sure makes many negative statements which include guns and racism and threats.

Ok Anti the thing is Bob Bolus ... clearly a white guy was arrested at a council meeting just ask him ... he loves to tell the story of how Kevin Murphy had him cuffed and charged ... physically removed from a meeting ... you must remember that ... I thought everyone rememberd that ... I don't think that Patilla was charged because he is black ... he was charged for not stepping down when he was told he was out of order ... maybe our Shari could do some research on this for you ... as she loves to research things.

I do however think after reading the Scranton Times/Tribune ... that 1 year in prison is a bit harsh ... I could see a fine but prison time I don't agree with that ... what do you all think?

Hey, what about the Doherty supporter who sent the nice letter to Jackowitz (sp?). You would never think Doherty people would stoop so low. Maybe after hearing about that letter you'll get a better understanding why people are so rabid against Doherty & friends.

I know of at least two other people who received the same type letter. I hope there's fingerprints on it and they can be traced.

What will council do about mailed letters? Wouldn't that fall under the jusrisdiction of the Postmaster General?

In much the same way that Council is not the place to go when someone raises the price of a bowl of soup, it's not the place to go when some idiot fires off one anonymous letter to your house.

I'm not saying the letters are fake, and I'm not saying they're not being viewed as threatening by the recipient ("threatening" is in the eye of the threatened, right?). I'm saying that it's not city business. Even if a handful of white powder fell out of them and the letters exploded, it still is not city business. Anything involving the mail is federal.

What's next? "Council, Jimmy's staring at me!" Seriously, this town needs to grow the hell up.

That guy is Kurt Shotko, and you may be right about him being anti. Who knows? I do not think its Jim Davis. Anti is too into communism, he idolizes Karl Marx, which I don't see too many black people into Karl Marx. Plus, in some past posts, Anti was talking about when he was a student in HS (probably West) when McTiernan was assistant principal. Jim Davis is too old to have had McTiernan as a principal.

Shotko is pretty quiet anymore. He used to be a frequent council speaker. Does he still set up shop downtown during the day, strumming his guitar and setting up his signs? Although I did spot Shotko recently...he was running the flower tent in the parking lot of Victoria's (the old Wendy's) on Main Ave.
