Every now and again I check in to our board statistics ... and well I have to say that for as small as we are we do pretty damn good.

We get over 500 View per day ... I think that's great ... we have 21 registered members ... and I will say most don't post ... however I do check and most of them do read daily ... when they have not checked in I delete the accounts ... I don't ban them I delete them ... and only because I do not want to be accused of doing what that "other" board does ... I will not plump up the membership to make us look more successful.

We are acting like the civilized human beings that we are ... we have rules and damn it ... we stick to them ... even when the kids across the hall make it difficult to do so. Our Board may not have 1,000+ members ... but the members that we do have have more class than all of the DD'ers and Doomers put together ...

When this board began I was afraid of becoming just like them ... and well I have to say that I am proud to be a part of what WE have created here ... and it is oh so important to keep pointing out how wrong they are to do what they do in the manner in which they do it ... I would not care what they say if they didn't personally attack the private lives of these politicians ... if they did not attack the CHILDREN and other family members who are not public servants ... and they attack the friends of these people ....

They do not realize what a joke they are in this town ... most people read that site to see what it is that will be said next ... they want to know who it is that Curley Joe and his merry band of thugs will be suing next ... they are an embarrassment to the community and a joke to most Scrantonians and the surrounding communities ... and well my friends that is something that we are not ... hell when they laugh at us it's because GirlThursday, Paul, Art or Ag have written something that is funny ...

But anyway ... I just wanted you all to know how very much I appreciate you all! Thank you all for being a part of Pilchesky Deceit and giving a voice to people who dare to disagree with Joe Pilchesky!

Lus, your posting reminded me a true story from back in the 1980's.

When 'shock jock' Howard Stern was in WNBC radio in New York City, the station polled listeners as to whether or not they liked the show. Of those listeners who said that they actually liked the show, most cite the reason of "wanting to hear what he (Stern) was going to say next" as the primary reason why they tuned in. Even more interesting were the results of those polled who said that they didn't like the show. That group listened TWICE as long as the first group and when asked, stated "wanting to hear what he (Stern) was going to say next" as the reason why they tuned in.

The moral of the story? Even when the scene is repulsive, it's human nature to want to take a peek at it. I can think of no better explanation for DD's level of traffic.

I have to agree with you Ag ... it's like a tragic car accident ... you know that someone is critically injured or possibly even dead ... and you don't really want to see someone hurt so badly but ... you look at it anyway ...

I have to say that the reason I keep going there is to see what the he|| they are going to say next ... and then I drag it back here and serve it up all over again ... only this time I try to point why it was so wrong to post it in the first place ... occassionaly I find one that I can agree with ... but in the 9 months that this board has exisited ... I have to tell you it has only happened not even a handful of times ... but it does happen.

Our Comments are up 364 in the past 12 days ... I guess we have a lot to say ...

I just like to keep you up to date on our Stats every now and again!

Our numbers are actually our numbers. A few gags aside, we have no members here who post under a dozen assumed ID's. Also, the nature of the posts doesn't dictate repeated visits during the day. Nothing really crazy or inflammatory to add to the "train wreck appeal" of the site. You can stop by, read through it, and come back the next day to see what happened. Bodies aren't piling up here. Good for us.

That's right Art ... we don't have a lot of crap to sift through ... so our numbers certainly are our numbers ... and well I think for how small our membership is ... that our numbers are quite impressive ... and I am very happy with the job that we all do with our site.

We say what's on our mind ... sometimes we kid around and have fun ... we post what we know to be true ... what we can prove ... and that's all ... we do not manufacture rumors and innuendo for the sake of upping our site hits ... we can be proud.

Thanks all Again I will say that our site is a more successful site ... because of the small number of posters ... sane posters ... well ok more sane than the posters at DD ... the insanity that goes on here is fun ... across the hall it's pure evil ...

Well I can't check the stats over there ... I get these statistics from our admistrative panel ... I am not looking for a membership of 1000+ I kind of like the way things are right now ... if we pick up a few more posters that's ok ... but if we don't ... that's also ok ... we all get along pretty well ... and address the issues ... we get a bit silly ... and things are nice just the way they are.

As Art said ... Our numbers are our numbers ... but can the same be said about the kids across the hall? I think not!

I posted this paragraph under another topic but realized it would be beneficial to keep it posted here as well, especially since we've been discussing Lus' TRUE membership count.

::: ... and another thing ... while I was checking for our girl Molly, I happened to see that there are at least thirty pages (+/-) of 'members' (@ God knows HOW many members per page). Not only have none of them ever posted a word, but none have even accessed the board since they were graced with membership. :::

I am sure Lus would rather have 24 members who actually have a valid opinion, than 600+ who are figments of Pilcheski's multiple personalities.

It was fine in my book before the visitors...no offense Shari. I'd offer the same 'no offense' line to Jimbu, but I think he's a bit miffed over the avatar stuff, so why bother? Oh, and I forget the other guy.

Anyway, I think that here it's not about the quantity of things (be it the number of posters, number of posts, etc.), but it's the quality of the fun we have in exposing the fallacies rampant at DD. Between the racist rantings of Anti, Pilchesky' s bravado, Edith's enabling or something like the truly sad case of Nancy Krake, there is always plenty of material to be found between DD and the 'legion'.

Honest answer is no. I do read it, but I am really and truly disgusted by the personal attacks. Even when I agree 1000% with Pilchesky...such as with regard to the sale of the Southside Complex...any useful information that might be there is contaminated by the stench of deeply personal attacks on people's families. I can understand if you are able to somehow 'compartmentalize' things...a skill I've read that Bill Clinton also has...but I can not.

Oh absolutly! I for one it found it very insightful that Little Missy Jan, who spends her time pretending to be the second coming, has as a following a pack of snarling mean-sprited wolves. I have found it to be true that one tool you can can use to judge the quality of person's characteris is the company they keep and the nature of the people who openly admire them.


I have also found it interesting that many of the very people who themselves have benefitted by"pay to play" politics are now "outraged" by that practice. They now whine day and night at DD about "other people" getting the same benefits they have enjoyed for years.

However the most insightful and interesting information I have found there is the knowledge that the web site Admin allow racist comments and attacks on children to remain posted and accepted.

Oh yes indeed I have found many interesting and insightful items there... Oh yes indeed!

I find it interesting that at DD, the word political in quotes in the heading, as if to acknowledge that most of what is discussed there is of a personal nature rather than a political nature. Sure, the subject deals with politicians, but that doesn't make it a political discussion.

Well Shari ... maybe size matters a hell of a lot to you ... that's you opinion ... mine is that we are small and we have been doing pretty good ... have you upped our hits ... probably ... so what ... we were doing good before you guys got here. Now don't take that as me wanting you to leave because I really don't mind you three ... Shed is pretty quiet I thought he would try to stir things up more ... and well Jimbu only really had 2 outbursts ... and his were because we were messing with him a bit ... I understand that ...
