Names and commentary on candidates for the two open Scranton City Council seats.

REPUBLICANS...or what passes for them in Scranton
Bob Bolus - Recently really pissed off the DD crew, which is never a bad thing
When Bolus Attacks
. The man does not suffer from a lack of self-esteem, that's for sure. Not sure though if he could serve if elected. Avoid the Texas Weiners at his hotdog place!
Giovanni Piccolino - Makes damn good pizza and speaks Italian, which really qualifies him as the owner of a pizza parlor...and not much else though. Oh, and while I disagree with the city taking his business without fair compensation, let's be honest...his building is a dump. I've seen cleaner bathrooms at Penn Station in Newark.
Pat Rogan - Who is this?

DEMOCRATS
'Silent' Bill Courtright - I honestly want to like this guy...I really do. But he is trying far too hard to not piss-off the DD crew. Take a stand Bill...do what is right, not just what costs the least number of votes. You know the DD crew is made up of a bunch of thugs, so be a man and call them out on it.
Lee Morgan - Funny but I was under the impression that you actually need to live in the City of Scranton in order to serve as a councilperson. Silly me. Over and above that, this guy is joke candidate. He is often unprepared when he speaks, doesn't seem to care about his appearance, and seems to love the sound of his own voice. A legend in his own mind. Once while picking up a few things at Lowes in Dickson City, I overheard him bragging to someone about how prowess as a city council speaker.
Andy Sbaraglia - Is respectful to current members of City Council and seems genuinely concerned about the city. Stops speaking immediately when his time is up. My only fear though is that he is too well liked by the DD crew... makes me wonder. Is usually very well prepared when he speaks during council meetings.
Bob McGoff- Deserves a lot of credit for taking crap from the DD/LoD cabal while still maintaining a professional demeanor. Seems to think first and talk second...a rarity at city council meetings.
Greg Popil - Don't know him, but the name is familiar. Former School Board Director? If so, did he use that position to get a full-time teaching position? Oh, sorry, I got him confused with Janet Evans.

Please feel free to chime-in/pile on.

Yes Ag Greg Popil former School Director ... and no amazingly he did not use his position for he own personal gain ... He did not get and did not look for a teaching postion with the SSD.

I had a thought ... do you think that the School Board may have offered Janet that Position because they felt if she stayed they just may have been bored to death? Maybe Ag the former School Board did it to save their lives ... because I will tell you ... I feel like driving a metal spike through my brain when I hear the sound of her voice for long periods of time ... so you see it may have been a life saving measure that the school board took at that time.

Gary DiBileo was appointed to take Janet's place when she resigned, that's how far they go back.
