I just noticed this small print at the bottom of the monumental failure of a petition to get the Times Leader to open a Scranton bureau.

Remember when the court found that Pocius had a right to pension benefits even though the home rule charter forbids a council member from having a city pension? It was appealed, and I found this listing of the argument on appeal in commonwealth court. It's scheduled for Sept. 4th at 1 pm. Gervasi et al v City of Scranton, et al.

Also on the list for Sept. 5th is Lackawanna County vs. Lack. Cty. Dep. of Sheriffi's Assoc. I don't know what that one is about.

What happened to our champion of free speech, the man who put manners on the District Attorney and the Pa. State Police? Serial-plaintiff Pilchesky is an amazing guy. He allows 'NotADumbBlonde' to post stuff that only Janet Evans (or a very close associate) would know, including comments between council members and Amil Minora, and doesn't bat an eye. However, someone with the name 'Janet' begins to post and all of a sudden there is a concern about mis-identity? Gee Pilchesky, how many 'Janets' to you think there are in the city of Scranton? Hell, there are two 'Janets' in my family (my mother-in-law & my sister-in-law) alone.

Personally, I'm not completely convinced that 'NotADumbBlonde' is Janet Evans, but one thing is for sure: it's someone who revels in making us think that he/she is Janet Evans. What's more, if the real Janet Evans were upset about NDB's postings, I'm sure that serial-plaintiff Pilchesky, being the good poodle that he is to Janet, would pull them down immediately.

Well this isgeting confusing, didn't Joey just throw a fit over "Free Speech" with the PSP and the DA in court over them shutting down his board? Now he claimshis board is a not a public forum therefore "Free Speech" is not right but a privilage?

I wonder if the DA and PSP might be interested in that information. Did Joey mislead the courts about the "true" nature of his board? Could this claim made by Joey (had it been know before the settlement) changed the outcome? Might the PSP and DA have chosen to not settle and to follow through to the end of the case based on Joey's claim that Free Speech is not a right but a privilege, as it relates to his board?

Perhaps someone should let them know?

This is definitely information that should be preserved for posterity. Those very words just may jump right up and chomp on his ass in the near future.

If this Janet person is, in fact NOT Our One and Only, then she should be pissed. If she, in fact IS Janet Evans, well then we should all be thrilled for her to finally come out of the proverbial closet and acknowledge she at least KNOWS that place across the hall exists.

By the way, what did her first six posts have to say? Anything incriminating, derogatory or insinuating?

She seemed to be bringing a sort of levelheadedness and rationale to the party.

Naturally, that sort of stuff confuses Joe, so he had to puff out his chest and try and explain why his "free speech" is very conditional, and that he is the final arbiter of what can and cannot be said, and that a councilwoman in Scranton apparently owns the internet rights to the screenname "Janet." He's f u c k e d up in the head is what it boils down to.

Don't kid yourself people, the ICN is alive and well not only in Scranton but Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, and alot of other Northeastern Cities and States...... They are a very powerful voting block, that sticks together and watches out for eachother and their families. Maybe there should be more organized groups like them, this city would make for a better place to live......

I guess it depends on how you define the IBEW (damn, I meant IBM....dohhhh...ICN). If you mean that people have a tendendy to vote for the familiar, and you want to call one such group 'ICN', then I guess I can agree with the concept.
