paraphrased from the old man under the topic of ... "Everything and anything about Austin Burke" ::: At any rate, Mr. Burke is now on the Doherty/Lynett/Gatelli team of oppression and suppression of open government. In the best interests of understanding Mr. Burke's interests in oppression and suppression, I respectfully request that you share anything you know about Mr. Burke, his business and political interests or other conduct that may shed light upon what motivates him, guides him, or otherwise influences how he functions in the business and political arena. :::
Just cross your eyes at that asswipe across the hall and you get dragged into the frey.
They've already jumped all over Todd Hartman because he backed away from the melee. Todd misguidedly thought that he could back gently away into the night - but uh, uh, uh ... they gotcha anyway. Todd's been no angel, but he doesn't deserve to be wrapped in their bull$hit for NOT running.
Not to cheerlead for DD or anything, but in my opinion, Austin Burke is one of the biggest wastes of space ever to appear on the pages of the local news. Burke and the chamber do more to stifle industry and keep wages low in this area than they do the help the area. They pat each other on the back whenever they attract yet another low-wage warehouse or telemarketing business, but they do in fact drive away good family-sustaining wages. I worked at Nat West (now Bank of America) back when it first opened, and it was widely known that Nat West intended to pay wages in the $10-11/hour range, which in 1994 was good pay for this area, the chanmber stepped in and informed them that people in this area do not make that kind of money for that type of work, so Nat West then changed their wage to $7/hour. Burke and his buddies at the chamner didn't want the local wages to rise and "hurt" their corporate members.
Austin Burke is a cancer on this area, and I couldn't care less about his opinions on what should and should not be done in Scranton government, since he does not even live in Scranton.
I saw this bald guy once, looked a lot like Joe but I have no way of proving it was him. Anyway, he appeared to be up to no good. If any of you choose to use this information against him please keep my name out of it. I can't afford to win another lawsuit.
