As long as she gets what she wants (Joe on SSB, unqualified daughter a teaching job), Gatelli will put up with and do anything -- the latest, changing her vote on the subpoenas.

Judy is for Judy.

I'm embarrassed for myself as a woman and, certainly, for her daughters. And pity for Joe -- how would you like to sleep with that every night???


First and foremost, lets start off with the definition of unqualified, although I am sure that the folks over there are familiar with the term, hence none of the are qualified for anything.  I am writing as a friend of the Gatelli family.  They should have really done their homework on her daughter, because she is overqualified in many opinions.  She received a masters degree from Marywood University, graduating with honors, she also has a teaching certificate, which you need in the state of Pa in order to teach, she is also working on getting another certificate in ESL(english as a second language) and also has a certificate in math.  So in my eyes and many others she is highly qualified.  The past 4 years, she has received excellent classroom observations from her school principals.  So put that in your pipe and smoke it.  As for her daughters, they are very proud ofboth of their parents.

ANYONE who complains about politics in Scranton but then praises Janet Evans is a HYPOCRITE in the first degree.  Either that or they have the brains of Ray Lyman.

I know I rag on the 'Janet Evans getting a teaching position while just coincidentally being on the School Board' bit a lot, but with good reason.   My wife is a teacher in the SSD, but she got her job the HARD WAY...she was a substitute in the district for years and she sat through three iterations of the eligibility list before her number came up.  Now I'm not bitter about that...that is how the system is supposed to work...but it is mind-numblingly amazing that the DD crew, in their zest to uncover polticial corruption, overlooks the circumstances of Ms Evans hiring.  To be blunt, it's readily apparent that either:

1.  Ms Evans either benefited from a one-in-a-million coincidence ("I just happened to be on the board and wouldn't you know it, my name just happened to be at the top of the eligibility list").
OR
2.  Ms Evans used an elected school board position (one that doesn't pay) to obtain a well-paying teaching position.

When it comes to elected officials, I generally don't ever believe in coincidence.

Ms. Gatelli's daughter took the oral exams in scranton a while ago and was in the mid 60's as a number, then low and behold as she was about to be hired, the correct way, the list that is done every 3 years, was magically done after only 2 years, hence she had to take the orals again, and is still on the list WAITING her turn, the proper way. The reasoning behind the list being done again was POLITICAL of course, but you will never hear that from anyone.. So i guess Ms. Gatelli does not have that much pull after all...

Ok the talk about people getting jobs ... Janet is a Teacher for the SSD ... and her son is also a teacher in the SSD.

I have so much more to say about how she could have possibly gotten her job ... but I don't want to sink to the level of the DD posters ... but don't forget Janet some of us have been around for 22 or so years ... we remember when you were a School Director and we remember how you behaved as a School Director ... enough said on this one!

Truth be told, I undestand how the game is played...and I don't necessarily have a problem with some people getting ahead via connections.  That's life...and I could never fault a parent for trying to take care of their children.  HOWEVER, what pi$$es me off is the HYPOCRISY of Janet Evans in all of this...the sheer audacity of her pointing fingers at others when she is herself uses the system for her own gain.

As pointed out by others, Janet Evans, you suck.

I don't think so is it ... I just think it's funny that she points that bony little finger at everyone else in this world ... "Oh My ... Mr. McTiernan Did what?" ... "Oh, your kidding they are saying that the Mayor and so-and-so are doing what?" ... "I would never be a part of such behavior!"

But in the past ... "J***, are you coming over tonight ... D*** has to work late, can you slip away without R***  finding out?"

She is such a hypocrite ... And well .... Janet you suck ... you hold everyone in the world to a higher standard of moral behavior than you yourself exhibit. Not right my friend!

Although she has already LIED and denied it Judy has an audio cut switch under her portion of the counter. I know I know....hard to believe Judy would ever lie...ask Bill Fiorini he installed it at her request. Ooooops was I supposed to say that?
