I want everyone to stop and think about one thing ... Joe Pilchesky is not a lawyer ... he's just a guy playing a lawyer on the internet. Please don't trust your legal needs to this man.
The AP people are professionals, they have to do beaucoup editing and sort through the volumes of bent thruths which were taped when they were here - if they were here. Joe probably dipped into his big old pot o' cash and paid a few people to show up with a van and a video camera to tape Granma, etal.
It's a sad thing the Piccolino's are in the middle of this situation, and it is a sadder matter still that they are being raised on the shoulders of such sophomoric and juvenile individuals. They should have kept to their professional legal strategy, instead of turning themselves into the sacrificial lambs of the Across The Hall Players. It will hurt the business more than help.
I don't pretend to know the Piccolinos personally the way Joe will, but I did work with one of the sons years ago for a few months. He seemed to have his head on straight then, and I imagine as a business owner, it's on even more straight now. He's going to do what's right for himself and his business on basic principle, not because he's being pushed by anyone, least of all some ambulance chasing causehead from Green Ridge. If DD wants to get behind him on this, I'm sure he'll be greatful for the support. I really doubt he went out seeking it, though.
Disagreeing with the mayor on an issue does not automatically make one a disciple of Joe Pilchesky (as much as the old man would have you believe otherwise), just as agreeing with the mayor on an issue is not enough to label one a "doobie" (again, as much as JP would like you to think it does).
The Piccolinos have their own agenda, and it does not hinge on the involvement or even support of a carpenter/"lawer"/activist/message board administrator. I don't think the future success of Buona Pizza will ever depend upon a lunatic band of hangers on and coattailers.
I did not mean to imply that the Piccolino's sought out Joe and his lunatic fringe. Other than being a faithful patron at the Lackawanna Ave. shop, I don't know the family. Speaking at council, the son came across as a pretty level headed guy. And what the hell, I would just like to say - the pizza speaks for itself.
Just by entering a public forum like City Council and introducing themselves (although inadvertently) to that band of lunatics, as an entity that needs assistance - whether Buona Pizza wanted their help or not, they got it. In my humble o-p-i-n-i-o-n, it certainly won't help Buona's cause to have that band of whackos sticking their two cents into ever conversation and interview and making it sound like they are the saviors of the world with the Piccolino's being indebted to them.
They probably got themselves all dressed and shined up to be on the tee vee. You KNOW the interviewees would have to mention and sing the praises of across the hall dot com. The AP professionals probably took one look over there (if they bothered at all) and shook their heads laughing.

I didn't mean to imply that you implied (is that enough implies?) that they did.
But you know the old man is going to count the entire Piccolino family (and probably half of NYC and Italy as well) as followers. That's to be expected. My point was, just because Pilchesky believes in and supports your cause, it doesn't mean that the feelings are reciprocated.
Joe might be on the right side of the fence on this one, but as I've said before, even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then. This is just more of the same Joe-trying-to-take-credit-for-something-he-really-has-nothing-at-all-to-do-with that we've seen before. The same thing he blasts Doherty for doing. It's his attention whore mentality. "Hey, everybody! Look at me! I'm making a difference!!"
Is THAT what I implied?? Oh, I didn't mean to imply.... I will say outright though, that I am so very glad to see your shamrock. Nothing like one of those South Side Irish....
