First off, I have to say that my prayers go out to this child and the family.  I have a small child and would go absolutely insane if this were to happen to my child.  But this house fire on Acker Ave:  http://wnep.com/Global/story.asp?S=6114803
Word is that emergency crews had a rough time getting to the house due to the bad roads.

"All roads are passable" George???  What a bunch of friggin morons we have running this town....

If it is true that the lack of snow cleanup caused this, then I am truly disgusted beyond belief at the powers-that-be around here.

I deleted the thread I started about this topic too, since Sam I Am posted his while I was posting mine:

Resign, George Parker.

The roads are still not passable, six days later.  A five year old died in a house fire today because firetrucks apparently could not make it over these "passable" roads.  On top of being a monumental failure during this whole storm and response, you now have blood on your hands.

Enjoy your retirement.

I agree Paul. 1000%.

Parker needs to resign and keep his ass up there on the "passable" roads in Moscow.

And here's Ray Hayes making another asinine comment:

However, public safety director Ray Hayes said, "there is nothing to indicate recent snow conditions hampered response to the fire."

I have a feeling there will be just as many PDers as DDers at the Council meeting Thursday if Parker is still in charge at DPW.

Edit:
Not one, but two positions about to open up, it appears.
