"Myself and a group of women met with Joanne Pilchesky over running for council.  She was kind enough to have us over to her home for coffee and we spent the better part of four hours trying to convince her to run.  After those four hours, we were all more convinced than ever that she'd be wonderful for council.  Especially under these conditions.  But, she is so dedicated to what Joe is doing that she wouldn't commit.  Joe seemed to be encouraging her to run, but she's a stand -by-my-man kind of woman and only wants to be side by side with Joe wherever all this takes them.  What a watchdog she would be.  And a marvelous personality.  Maybe some day she'll change her mind.  Like Jan, she's a one of a kind, very stong."

The bolded part is exactly why she would be a miserable councilperson.  Talk about drinking the kool-aid.  Clearly this woman does not have the capacity for independent thought.  She's nothing but a squawk box for whatever nonsense her useless idiot of a husband spews out of his piehole.  Her platform consists of nothing more than "Yes Dear."  And we're the sheep?  Christ, Joanne, you're almost as pathetic as that joke of a man you married.  The second one, I mean.

Joe Pilchesky is the kiss of death to a candidate ... people read that site because they are curious ... that's why they read ... they don't read it because they believe as Joe and Janet believe ... some do ... most don't ... Most read because it is the craziest **** ever written and it's a sick need to keep reading because you want to know what the hell they are going to say next ... Some people read DD for the same reasons that other people…

…stare out their car windows as they pass by a highway wreck

…watch the Jerry Springer show

…look at road-kill and try to figure out what kind of animal it was

It’s human nature in a way…humans love the ‘spectacle’…we crave drama…we detest but simultaneously enjoy gossip. DD seems to have an appeal at that level. There are times (such as right now) when I can’t bare to go to the site. There are other times when I can’t wait to get home from work just to see what’s going on at ‘House-O-Paranoia’.

The bad news for Pilchesky is that whatever credibillity he once had as a crusader against the wrongs of Doherty (and there are some...) has long ago been polluted by rumor-mongering and the insanities posted by the likes of Elmo and Anti. In essence, HE turned HIS OWN crusade into a carnival freak-show. Foes of Pilchesky couldn't have done a better job of ever discrediting the man than he has done himself. Having the functionally illterate complaining about the communication skils of others doesn't help his credibility either. As Lus says, "Pot, meet kettle". In fact, I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when the ACLU staff first read through some DD postings. I can just picture this bright young ACLU staff person scratching his/her head and saying "Okay, just what the hell is she trying to say ?" after reading a typical Granma posting.

Holy Crap - I'm in stitches here.  I'm telling you - they will have that dame walking on water before too long. She certainly is their 'be all and end all'.  I'm just looking forward to the day when Little Miss Finance Chair tells them 'no' (diplomatically of course).  We'll have to get Fay a bib for all the lather.

Girl I'm also looking forward to the day that she tells them no ... that should be quite the show ... although I don't even wish the rath of DD on Janet ... I don't think that anyone should ever have to endure what they do to people.  Not even Janet.

I also am looking forward to the day that she begins to live by the rules that she expects others to live by .... but hell just might freeze over before we ever see either one of these things happen.

She holds others to such high standards ... she expects them to be prepared ... she never is ... she claims it's because she does not get her information until right before the meeting ... well she gets a lunch ... she can drive herself over to City Hall and pick it up on lunch ... that would give her few hours to review this important information before she got to the meeting ... but then again she claims that the others get information that she never gets ... I guess they intentionally leave it out of her packet ... it's easy to claim ignorance that way you don't have to make a real decision ... but if a student did that in her class ... she would say that they were unprepared and more than likely the would not receive a passing grade.  So Janet ... you get an F in preparedness ... sorry Honey ... you have to go to Summer School!

She expected that Bob McTiernan conduct no City Business on School Time, she would turn him in if he did, so he didn't ... but she herself continuously sits in the hallway talking on her Cell phone conducting City Business when she should be teaching ... hmmmm .... different rules for Janet ... Oh well ... I never expect more from others than I myself am willing to do or give ... But Janet well she's special .... she wants wants wants .... and Her as Mayor ... all I can say is Oh My God .... Joanne (Joe) Pilchesky as a council woman .... again OH MY GOOD GOD .... PLEASE HAVE MERCY ON THE CITIZENS OF SCRANTON!

Give me a second to catch my breath as I run screaming from across the hall (ok, so all it took was a few clicks of the mouse, cut me some slack).  I just read their posts under the topic about ..."any good candidates running in May".  There are too many to cut and paste here - but take a look for yourself  - ...any good candidates ... - the posts from late in the day of the 31st and today are some of the most ridiculous posts yet.  Apparently, now all you have to do is be a catholic, and you're automatically inducted into the ICN Hall of Fame for hellbound priests.

File this under hypocrisy...in the "any good candidates" thread, some posters are calling for Lee Morgan to run for council.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Lee Morgan live outside of the city, and just owns rental property here?  Contrast that with the posters wanting to tar and feather Sherry Fanucci for supposedly staying at her significant other's house in Clarks Summit or wherever, even though she owns a home in Scranton.

Could they please at least start to be consistent over there?

OK Sam ... Now I'm not trying to be a smartass with you ... but your not getting the difference between Sherry Fanucci and Lee Morgan ... you are right Lee live in the Abingtons ... however Lee worships at the alter of Joe Pilchesky ... so whatever ... they know he's not from Scranton ... he knows he's not from Scranton ... that was well established when he was protesting the building of the New Scranton High School.  He was totally against the building of a new school ... I wonder if he goes to the Abington meetings and raises hell the way he raises hell in Scranton.

Sherry is not on the Pilchesky top 10 favorite list so no matter what she does ... she will be wrong ... now if she begins to play the game the way Lee and Janet Evans do ... then maybe they will lay off ... but they will never like her ... they talk about people being loyal to Doherty ... but Joe wants everyone to pledge allegiance to him ... he calls Judy Hitler ... well "Hello Pot ... This is Kettle" ... it's his way or the highway and Lee is a worshiper that's why it does not matter where he lives ... talk about a bunch of Hypocrites!!!

Just because they all look alike and have a similar gene pool doesn't mean they agree on everything. I'd vote Phillips over Lesh or Popil, no doubt, but I'm not convinced that Phillips will be fair to everyone. Moreover, I'll take a Minooka ICNer over a Greenridge ICNer anyday. However, on the side of the coin, Phillips is not far outside the ICN so perhaps he can build the bridges it takes to get this city in order. I'm sure he owns a Nextell or at least a cell phone, where he can make the right calls to make the deals. 

Chris Phillips is up against a SYSTEM that exists whether or not he runs, and that will despite him if he wins. I'm not scared of Doherty and what he is capable of as much as I'm afraid of the system that makes possible the exclusive city-building project that Doherty is working overtime to implement. I'm afraid that same SYSTEM might set limits on what Phillips can do.

Last, and most important: If Phillips is still on the fence about running, for whatever the reason, then I have to ask, How vulnerable is he going to be when the heat is on and he is thrown in with the lions? Janet has responded well. Courtright has too, although he is extra careful to the point that he doesn't say much.  Tubby Gatelli, who was talked up to be a Maverick, ended up being an ICNer on steroids.

Chris Phillips, unfortunetly, is still a question mark. This is a serious question that we need to ask ourselves NOW, not 5 months from now when it's too late, when we're endorcing a candidate to turn this city around.

I have a green thong and a funny hat - does it make me Sister Adrian?  I used a crutch once because I hurt my foot - did I call it a shillailegh?  On occasion, I eat Lucky Charms - does that make me a leprechaun?  I had a beer last year - I even had a sip of a ShamRock shake - I've been to the Banshee a time or two - I can even scream like a banshee if need be - I'm a catholic - My favorite punch line on St. Patrick's Day is "Patty O'Furniture".

Maw  Judy works for the city why doesnt she have to give up her job.  Is it because she works for the school district?  That doesnt seem to be fair.  To me it seems that it would be just as much as a conflict of interest for Judy as it would be for Mrs. Krake and Mr. Gervasi.

Oh Sweet Jesus - Bill Jackowitz in a council seat?  He'd mumble his way through the campaign reading speeches verbatim and ending each sentence with the word stupid - why the hell does he do that? 

Isn't that Talamini guy the geezer newcomer who showed up to bi+ch about the smoking ban and then just wouldn't leave?  I kind of tune him out every time he comes to the podium.

Nancy Krake would make a new bedtime story for each stop on the campaign trail and bore the $hit out of us everytime she opens her yap.

The same thing for Schumaker - and isn't she the one who opened the can of worms by sending the infamous Janet Evans email.  I could be wrong, but I thought I saw her name on that thing.

Eeesh - I'd sooner vote for Franus and Lyman for those seats.
