What they forget to say in this post is this ... Janet serves some of the people ... if she likes you she would do anything for you ... if she does not like you well forget it ... I do not think that she has what she had 2 years ago ... she is losing her momentum and I don't think she could beat Doherty at this time ... just my opinion ... but people are beginning to see her for who she really is ... and they are not liking it!

I wouldn't vote for Janet Evans simply because of the people who are singing her praises. I will give her the benefit of the doubt and say that she is not a total imbicile and has had an idea or two that has not been totally idiotic. However, the mentality of her followers have certainly taken away from her political fortitude. By associating herself with this bunch of (I'll be polite) zealots, she has brought upon herself a sense of ridicule. If Janet has ANY chance of being taken seriously in the next mayoral election, she has to completely divorce herself from the nuts across the hall. It will certainly increase her chances of running in a closer race.
It amazes me how these people think -- paraphrased from across the hall - MAW ::: The way to get your point across is through your vote. ... Listen to the candidates and their stand on issues and vote whom you feel wouold do the best job for the taxpayers. Local politics has become a popularity contest, with those with the most money and connections having an unfair advantage over someone who does not have the same resources. Do not be fooled into thinking because they have money, they would do the best job, we have learned that lesson very well when we re-elected Doherty, the elitist, he has shown us time after time, he has no interest in helping the average resident of this city and his council people follow him blindly. ... If we do not get out and vote, we have only ourselves to blame for what happens in the future. We are the voice ... :::
What I find so ridiculous is the fact that these people point their fingers at the Dohertys, Grecos, Lynetts, Farrells, and anyone else who has a college degree or has made something of themself, or anyone else who has worked for what they have. Sure, mom and dad may have helped get them where they are today, but not in the ways the DD are saying. Just because these people have worked through their educations and paid for their educations and made something of themselves, only gives YOU the right to be jealous of them.
You can not please everyone. There is always going to be someone who disagrees with you. Someone is always bound to question authority and THAT is your right. Question it - Debate it - Discuss it - Yes, even take them to court if it is deemed necessary. But to harrass and threaten? That is NOT your right.
I jumped all over one of Anti's posts recently about some people getting off their collective asses and doing something to help their children and to better their own lives in the process. Well, if you do that, and make something of yourself in school and later in life, and earn your own money, and own your own home, and push your own educated children to make something of themselves, well then the only thing you have to worry about is someone pointing their uneducated and underprivileged fingers at YOU - get the point?
Just because he has money does not Chris Doherty the best choice for mayor. Just because another candidate "does not have the same resources" does not make him the better choice either. I see in Chris Doherty an educated and level-headed businessman. He may or may not have made all the right decisions lately. Has he pointed a finger at ANYone and blamed them for any errors? No. Has he pointed a finger in pilchesky's direction and blamed him for anything? No. Has he driven all over town with a bullhorn talking trash about any of that crew? No. The dd'ers, however point fingers and place blame on EVERYone who disagreees with their line of thinking. Their name-calling is notorious. They harass public figures and regular citizens alike, with absolutely no thought as to who may have to wallow in the rubble of the fallout. And their threats ... they are a vulgar bunch of people with way too much time on their hands to come up with some of the things they threaten.
Do I want Chris Doherty in office with level headed businessmen around him? Absolutely. Do I want Janet Evans or Bill Courtright in office with the dregs of the pilchesky society around them? Do I want Nancy Krake as a head of OECD? Do I want Pilchesky as head of security? Do I want MILO as Director of Parks? Do I want Dave Gervasi as head of DPW? Absolutely NOT - now let's imagine what happens on the odd chance either of these two get into office and they DO NOT choose to place any of their pilchesky associates in a high paying adminstrative position. The $hit will hit the fan and pilchesky will have Evans for lunch and pick his teeth with Courtright's bones.
Yeah - that'll be good for the city.

I'm a registered democrat. I'd consider voting republican, depending on the candidate. Something isn't working, and I'm all for taking a different course to see if anything changes.
Paul ... I guess I know what you mean ... I have not always towed the party line ... I vote for the person ... If I like the person ... if I feel that they are the best person for the job ... well that is what I take a look at ... not wat the party tells me to do.
