I mean physically. 


There's been a severe lull in action in the DD litterbox over there the last couple days.  Especially considering that last night the ACLU was in town, and all of our problems should have been solved by now.  But there are only 3 posts about it, the Administration is still intact, and the Times building, from where I sit, appears to not have been engulfed in flames or attacked by radioactive dinosaurs.


Just wondering if everyone circle jerked themselves into an aneurysm after the meeting or not, since it's been fairly quiet today.  Elmo's been running his mouth a little, but that's about it. 


Kool-aid run, maybe?

They are circling the wagons and fabricating what tact they are going to take against "the man".  I think Joe might be hanging over the wife's keyboard as she embellishes yet another letterhead.  Oh wait, that's right - it was the scanner that mispelled that name.

Maybe Hate is just taking a short break. After all, Hate has been working overtime at DD over the past few months, what with 'The Man' increasing taxes, harassing minorities (according to Anti), stopping people from smoking, etc.

Paul you are so right ... No Grandstanding ... braggadocio ... which means no hot air to warm Scranton ... I guess we had Joey to thank for our Mild winter ... I guess he better get back to work ... I don't want any snow!

Medical Update.

Joe apparently had brain surgery yesterday.  His old, shriveled up one was removed and replaced with a Danish brand canned ham.  He is resting comfortably, my sources tell me.  I can't disclose who they are, but trust me, I have sources.  Trust me.  Highly placed insider type sources.  Don't believe me?  Just ask me.  They're not made up, I swear.  I'd never lie to you.

Anyway, as proof that he is well on the road to recovery, he's let us in on his failsafe plan to finally win a lawsuit.  Well, gain standing at least.

He's gonna buy a bar!  Man, oh, man.  I can't wait.  I hope he has wing night and karaoke.   And a pool table.  \m/ Joe Rocks! \m/

Just show a Sox game now and then, huh?  Too many damn Yankee bars in town as it is.

Joe is going to buy a bar? Cool...once the bar is his, I'll down there and exercise my 'right to free speech'? Afterall, we all know that Joe is such a staunch supporter of free speech. A few topics that come to mind include...

 

...Joe's lawsuit record (0 for 13, soon to be 0 for 14)

...the ACLU's staunch support for the right of Neo-NAZIs to march in predominantly Jewish neighborhoods (see National Socialist Party vs. Village of Skokie)*

...how nice Judy Gatelli will look driving Joe's 'Vette (can you spell s-a-n-c-t-i-o-n-s Mr Pilchesky?)

...My admiration for the Jesuits

...How people can believe the dumbest things...you know, like how the government supposedly blew up the Word Trade Center, how there were really no moon landings & how a secret group of Irish Catholics really runs things in Scranton

 

 

(*) Note...I'm not slamming the ACLU, but like any organization run by human beings, they get it both right and wrong sometimes. A classic example of where they got it wrong, in my opinion, was in the Skokie IL case. Anyway, recent postings in DD make them look like the 'white knights' that are going to ride into Scranton and save all the poor down-trodden from the evil ICN. Funny thing though in that if the LoD/DDs pitch to the ACLU was that 'free speech' was stifled at council meetings, why is it that speakers now have an extra minute of talk time (3 & 3 minutes now vs. 5 before)?

Ag,

The problem with the LoD'ers is this ... I think they flunked the math course because they can't add ... you are right they have an extra minute but they don't see it that way ... I guess what they wanted was to keep things as they were or to be given 5 minutes for agenda items and then 5 more minutes for citizens concerns ... so they wanted a total of 10 and only got 6 ... so in their opinion time was taken from them ... you and I and all of the sane people see it as an increase they see it as being robbed.

Is the bar owner on the hook for the fines or not?  I don't hit the bars too often, and I've recently quit smoking, so I don't really pay much attention; all that yelling at DD just kind of blends together into a dull confused roar.

If the bar owner gets fined, I might do as Denis Leary (noted Irish Catholic, I might add...) suggested, and get a tracheotomy so I can smoke two at a time in his bar.  Rebel yell won't tell me to put them out, will he?  And stifle my free (machine assisted) speech?

I'm sure it will be a safe haven for all of the smokers in the city and that Joey P. will take full responsibility as he does on his website, and pay the fines for all of these smokers in his bar ... I know I'll go there just hoping that he will get a fine!

 Cigarette .... smoke um if you got um!
