The people certainly do NOT need to be silenced - just muzzled a little. It seems they don't realize that they are addressing elected public officials. First of all, leave the chip on your shoulder AT HOME - come to the podium prepared, knowing what you are about to say - bring a note or two - practice it at home to check that it is five minutes or less - only use one pair of glasses at a time (you don't need the sunglasses too, Janet's star doesn't shine THAT brightly) - you are a citizen of this city, NOT the elected official, and whether or not you 'like' that person, their office should be respected - there should be NO first names used (even if it's your mother up there) - leave the namecalling at the door, you are addressing a public official - comb your freaking hair - and for the love of God slap a bra on those damned things.
The administration does care what people have to say - it is the disrespectful, incoherent and juvenile way some of the speakers make their comments that annoy so many individuals. And when things don't happen in YOUR timetable, stop picking schoolyard fights over every little damned thing.
The incessant whining is grating and is no reason to keep channel 61 alive. Comedy I can get elsewhere -

Actually Girl ... the whinning and disrespect are the things that will surely kill channel 61 ... Points can be driven home with a well thought out speech. A well thought out speech will make the Council members sit up and take notice ... obviously these people who are frequent flyers at the podium were never taught manners by their parents because I know that I was always taught to call the people in athority by "Mr. McGoff" or "Councilman McGoff" but never when addressing him should I ever call Him Bob! And I only used him as an example ... I do not know Mr. McGoff. This was always a rule with our friends parents ... and neighbors ... bosses ... this was something that my parents expected of my brothers and myself ... it's called showing respect. So this lack of respect that is broadcast out farther than the city of Scranton ... could be a good reason that they are considering pulling the plug on channel 61.
