Call it a late-in-life career change.

Politics here is a contact sport. Where there's contact there's blood. You can't walk onto this battlefield, engage an enemy and not got bloodied. If the sight of your own blood on someone else's sword makes you faint, I strongly advise staying on the sidelines. You might want to keep your distance, blood splattering is not uncommon. To that end, much credit goes to the bloodied who choose to stand and fight until they were either dispatched to their political grave or handsomely rewarded with going home at the end of the day to stitch themselves up and rest up for the next day. 

I liked the fight. I have plenty of fight left and plenty more blood to spare, but I no longer like most of the people for whom I've spilled my blood. Spilling more cannot be justified. 

I've learned much more from political enemies than from political friends, and ironically, I leave respecting more of the enemies I've crossed swords with than friends I've had a beer with, but that holds true in all wars.

I think I've seen this movie before.  Maybe Dr Candypants (is she still a doctor these days?) isn't paying enough attention to him these days.  Anyway, allow me to translate his post:

No disrespect, Mr. Pilchesky, but you're the one who spilled the blood of the politicians first and you kept on spilling it. It took a special man to do what you did or haven't you noticed you were the first to do it in 100 years?  

You made this bed. You sleep in it. How can you leave us high and dry now?  Really, how can you?  I've started every day for the last 7 years coming here and ended it the same way.  So did a lot of other people. 

You can certainly write a book and keep this site up and running at the same time.  You handled dozens of lawsuits all at the same time, didn't you?  What's the difference?  Juggle better.

The time of the year where he cries poverty has arrived.  Well, shiitforbrains, NO ONE asked you to do any of this.  Being a self appointed activist isn't free, to coin a phrase.  If you had no idea what you were doing, or how much time and money it would have cost YOU, how it would have dominated your life, causing you reputation (not that you had one) and relationships, you should have stayed under your rock.  If it was a price you were willing to pay, then quit your bitching.  You don't get to have your cake and eat it too.  The spilled milk (not blood; no blood was was ever spilled by you or anyone else) that you're crying over evaporated a long time ago.  You continue to beat the ground where once a dead horse may have been.  That horse is long gone.  So is your relevance, if it was ever there in the first place.

He would prefer we zing nickels at him? Given the right slingshot, I might actually enjoy that.

That or the fact that the jig is genuinely almost up at DD and he knows it.  Or both.  Anyway, new postings are way down...I'm thinking that maybe about a third of the actual content now is posted by old Joe or one of his multiple personalities.  Even DD stalwarts like Antisemiticmovements & Shadow aren't posting.

That would be an interesting plea agreement.  No more political "gadflying" for reduced charges.  The "stalwarts" are gone because for a lot of them, it wasn't about holding anybody's feet to the fire...it was about making sure Janet had the backup to zing the mayor and take care of her "constituency".  Cut off the head, the body dies.

The laser comes with the territory, but in all fairness, they had to live with mine, as well. The arrest for practicing law contributed nothing to my decision. I don't consider it a serious threat. Writing requires solace and a distancing from distractions. I've already informed my own family to keep their distance for the next six months. I'm going into the think tank with literally thousands of notes I've accumulated over the years, nearly 20 shoe boxes stuffed to the gills of all different topics with notes-to-self written on everything from napkins to matchbook covers, plus what is already stored in the grey matter and what exists in hard copy and in hard drives. The hard part is going to be making sense of it all.

I just cannot write the copy and produce the vids and maintain the site at the same time. I tried, but it's impossible. I get 30 - 50 emails a day about all kids of corruption. The mailbox is always stuffed with anonymous envelopes with pics and leads on corruption. Lots of phone calls, sometimes people knocking on the door, so on and so forth.

I love what I do, but there's nowhere to send a bill. I have to create a healthy revenue stream.
