Retaining those 37 city workers sure is taking its toll
This current budget situation is a complete mess. Thanks for the tax break, but at what cost? Retaining the 37 workers DOherty had slated for layoff is costing the city about $10 million bucks, and that's a conservative effort.
Maybe the people who frequent this message board need to take the lead on this issue and call out the supermajority in addition to the mayor. A good kick in the pants budgeting 101 lesson from Joe is all council needs.
