Have you ever noticed that there are certain people in our lives ... or maybe not in our lives just stuck in our computers that are toxic to our well being? I have noticed this.
I have spent a good portion of my life feeling bad ... feeling like I never quite measured up. And no it was not because of my parents .... I thought that I was over that ... but today I read two little words that made me feel really bad about myself ... can you imagine ... just two little words and your past just comes rushing back at you ... What were those two little words you ask ... well "bad spelling". Can you just imagine the power of two words. I never was much of a speller, and I guess I should use spell check, but I didn't. Hell I didn't realize that Sparklit had a spellchecker ... just now noticed it. I will try to use it often so I no longer offend people with my bad spelling.
Now I have to wonder about a person who expects absolute perfection from everyone ... did someone in your life expect that you should be perfect at all times? Rather than striving for perfection in my life ... I would much prefer to be human and treat others as I would want to be treated ... and to treat them as they have treated me. That is my perfection ... in life you get what you give ... Now I know this is not the usual topic for our discussion board ... but it was how I was feeling today. It is just my opinion and not worth a damn thing to anyone but me! Have a great day!
(I have done a spell check and it says I am good to go no errors found ... so if you find one Glenn blame the spellchecker)

Don't sweat it Lus....if the only thought Glenn can articulate on 911 is "bad speller" I would suggest his issues are a much bigger problem than your spelling deficit...( I have a huge spelling issue myself...so I can relate Lus)....don't let anyone else decide for you what you are... OK?
No Glenn you need to lighten up ... your perfect and we are not ... I get it ... I just thought I would let you know .... you have an incredible talent for making people feel bad about themselves ... just thought you should know that.

We people are just fine the way we are ... have you ever considered that you could let a flaw in a person go by without making fun of them? I would guess that thought never occurred to you, even this post is incredibly insulting.
I guess that is the way you are and who am I to try and make you think before you do something that is hurtful to another.

Poor spelling and grammar happen to be one of my pet peeves. People develop bad habits because the written word has nearly become obsolete. Telephones replaced letter writing; 24 hour news channels have nearly replaced newspapers; video tele-conferences have replaced countless memos.
It kills me when I read someone is "waiting with baited breath"; the actual idiom is "bated breath". Two completely different meanings from a simple grammatical error. The expression " I could care less" (Couldn't care less) also makes me shake my head.
The written word is one of the great hallmarks of an educated society. When I hear people saying they need to "conversate", because someone was "disrespecting" them, I could scream. "Where you at" has actually become a mainstream expression.
If the spelling police and grammar nazis retire, our society will descend into a sea of "BRB; "prolly"; "2nite"; "LOL"; "plz"; and "Luv-U". Maybe we can devolve language into a series of grunts and avoid written and spoken words altogether.
If I ate a steak with a spoon and brushed my teeth at the kitchen sink, I would hope someone would be kind enough to educate me on proper etiquette. I wouldn't take it as a personal affront to be corrected on spelling.
I'm done ... I have bigger things to worry about in this life other than if I have mispelled one simple little word ... and I surely hope that this is your only problem as you seem to place such importance on it.
I guess I am the one who needs to get a life ... because it just bothers me to see people snipe about a mispelled word ... but hey that's just me. Sorry if this post is offensive to anyone.
I would rather treat someone with kindness than to make them feel as though they are a stupid @ss. But again ........................................ that's just me!

Glenn, save the snark for Tuesdays. You should know better by now.
Lus, take a deep cleansing breath. It's 9/13 and this date 'prolly' has no special connotations, unless it's your 'b-day'.
IHave, way to watch Lus's back. You can put the claws back in.
Balko, 'irregardless' of what you have to say ...
I too get irritated with the abbreviations people have assumed everyone knows. I am a product of the TGIF (Thank God It's Friday) and SSDD (Same $hit Different Day) eras and this prolly and lol-ing irritates the piss out of me. And stop sending me those frikking colons and half-parentheses. Happy, sad, who the hell cares - put your tongue back in your mouth with your semi colon and capital P.
Speak.To.Me. Don't lol me. Don't emoticon me. Don't text me. I'd rather have a conversation; and in the long run tell you to go to hell, than to type "luv yas wtg 4 u 2 call". It's no wonder this generation has no sense of respect for the written (or spoken) word, no telephone etiquette, and no ability to string more than two words together to form a cohesive sentence.
(now, before I hit 'send' ... where's the spellcheck button? oh hell, i am going to live dangerously!)
